Guzei (Grain Husk/Sharp Grain) refers to the short, hard, and rough awns or husks found on cereal spikes. If mistakenly consumed as rice, it causes swelling and obstruction in the throat, leading to the upward rush of wind-heat qi, which can be fatal.
Formula for treating throat swelling and pain caused by Guzei:
Brassica rapa var. oleifera (0.5 liang, red variety preferred), Big Softshell Turtle Egg Yolk (0.5 liang), Rhubarb from Sichuan (0.5 liang, crushed and lightly stir-fried), Halite/Malachite (Ma Ya Xiao) (0.5 liang), Pinellia Tuber (1 fen).
Crush and sieve the above herbs into powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a cherry. Wrap one pill in silk gauze, hold in the mouth, and swallow the saliva gradually.
Formula for treating throat swelling and pain caused by Guzei: "Han Hua Shegan Wan" (Betel Leaf Lozenge Pill):

Crush and grind the above herbs into powder. Melt yellow beeswax and mix to form pills the size of a corn kernel. Constantly hold one pill in the mouth and swallow the saliva until cured.
Another formula:
First, puncture the affected area with a needle to allow dark blood to drain. Then, hold a small piece of Halite/Malachite (Ma Ya Xiao) in the mouth and swallow the saliva until cured.
Another formula:
Finely grind Halite/Malachite (Ma Ya Xiao), wrap half a qian weight in silk gauze, hold in the mouth to dissolve, and swallow the saliva until cured.
