The manifestations of *Nü Lao Dan* (Jaundice due to Sexual Exhaustion) include yellowing of the body and eyes, accompanied by fever and aversion to cold, fullness and urgency in the lower abdomen, and difficult urination. This condition is caused by failing to preserve one's health during severe physical exertion and high fever, specifically by entering water after sexual intercourse.
To treat *Nü Lao Dan* with symptoms of yellowing of the body and eyes, aversion to cold and fever, fullness and urgency in the lower abdomen, and difficult urination, use the Huashi San (Talcum Powder).
Huashi (Talcum, 1.5 liang) Baifan (Alumen, 1 liang, calcined until the juice is exhausted).
Pulverize the above ingredients through a fine sieve to make a powder. Take 2 qian each time, at any hour, mixed with barley porridge drink. The treatment is considered effective when yellow fluid is discharged from the urine.
Another prescription:
Bai fan (Alumen, 0.5 liang, calcined until the juice is exhausted) Xiaoshi (Niter, 0.5 liang).
Grind the above ingredients finely into a powder. Take 2 qian each time, at any hour, mixed with barley porridge drink. The treatment is considered effective when slight sweating occurs and urination becomes smooth.
Another prescription:
Lu fa (Human hair, size of an egg) Zhuzhi (Pig fat, 0.5 jin).
Cook the above ingredients together in a pan over low heat until the hair is completely dissolved. Take half an eggshell measure each time, mixed with warm water, at any hour. The treatment is considered effective when urination becomes smooth.
Various types of Huang Zheng (Jaundice Syndromes) originate fundamentally from Shang Han (Cold Damage), causing mutual injury among the five Zang organs. Heat qi invades each other, leading to mental confusion, disharmony of the six Fu organs, loss of mastery by the seven spirits, and changes in mood. Patients may experience restlessness in sitting, lying down, or sleeping; delirious speech; alternating joy and sorrow; alternating cold and heat; excessive talking or muteness; frequent laughter; hallucinations of ghosts and gods; heaviness in the four limbs making movement difficult; or sudden running away with increased strength. Such symptoms indicate extreme heat in the five Zang organs causing blockage and obstruction. If not treated promptly, it can severely endanger life. Some patients may have persistent epistaxis (nosebleed) or sores in the mouth; others may have difficult urination or constipation. When these signs appear, Dian Lao (Point Cauterization) should be performed immediately, followed by treatment according to the subsequent prescriptions, which will ensure recovery.
Gan Huang (Liver Jaundice) manifests as a bluish complexion, spasticity and tightness of the four limbs, dryness of the mouth and tongue, dysarthria, discomfort of the face and eyes, and bluish nails. If there is edema on the back and distension/fullness in the abdomen and hypochondrium, it is difficult to treat. Perform point cauterization on Ganshu (BL-18), Shangguan (CV-13), two points of the Foot-Yangming Meridian, and between the arms on the dorsum of the hands.
To treat Gan Huang, use the Chaihu San (Bupleurum Powder).
Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, 1 liang, remove sprouts) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 liang, honey-fried until slightly red, sliced) Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen) Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen) Lingyangjiaoxie (Saiga Tataricae Cornu).
Pulverize and sieve the above ingredients to make a powder. Take 3 qian each time. Decoct with one zhongzhan (approx. 200ml) of water until reduced to 0.5 zhongzhan. Remove the dregs. Take warm at any hour.
To treat Gan Huang with symptoms of bluish-yellow complexion, spasticity of sinews and vessels, dry mouth, irritability, difficult urination, and dysarthria, use the Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder).
Xijiaoxie (Rhinocerotis Cornu) Zhizi ren (Gardeniae Fructus) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) Lingyangjiaoxie (Saiga Tataricae Cornu) Chuanshengma (Polygala Tenuifolia Radix)
Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, 1 liang, remove sprouts) Longdan (Gentianae Radix, 0.5 liang, remove rhizome) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 0.5 liang, honey-fried until slightly red, sliced).
Pulverize and sieve the above ingredients to make a powder. Take 3 qian each time. Decoct with one zhongzhan of water, adding fourteen leaves of Danzhuye (Lophatheri Herba), until reduced to 0.6 zhongzhan. Remove the dregs. Take warm at any hour.
