For women suffering from Blood Division disease (Xuefen Bing), menstruation ceases first, followed by the onset of edema. This occurs because menstrual blood becomes stagnant and obstructed, causing the blood to transform into fluid retention; hence it is termed "Blood Division" disease.
To treat Women's Blood Division disease characterized by meridian obstruction, facial edema, abdominal and hypochondriac fullness and oppression, and painful discomfort in the four limbs, use Chishao Yao San Formula (Red Peony Powder).
Chishao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra, 1 liang) Taoren (Semen Persicae, 1 liang, soaked in hot water, skin and pointed ends removed, double kernels discarded, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow) Zhike (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus, 1 liang, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow, albedo removed) Baihe (Bulbus Lilii, 1 liang) Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, 1 liang, sliced and lightly stir-fried) Chifuling (Poria cum Radix Polypori, 1 liang) Qianniuzi (Semen Phaseoli, 1 liang, lightly stir-fried) Binglang (Semen Arecae, 1 liang)
The above ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Each dose consists of 4 qian. Take with one zhong of water and half a fen of fresh ginger. Decoct together until reduced to six parts. Strain and take warm on an empty stomach. Daily administration should aim for bowel movement as the sign of efficacy; if not achieved, administer again.
To treat Women's Blood Division disease characterized by abdominal and hypochondriac distension, limb edema, and shoulder/back congestion and oppression, use Chifuling San Formula (Red Poria Powder).
Chifuling (Poria cum Radix Polypori, 3 fen) Chuandahuang (Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, 2 liang, sliced and lightly stir-fried) Biejia (Carapax et Plastrum Testudinis, 1 liang, brushed with vinegar and roasted until yellow) Chishao Yao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra, 3 fen) Guixin (Cortex Cinnamomi, 0.5 liang)
The above ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Each dose consists of 4 qian. Take with one zhong of water and half a fen of fresh ginger. Decoct together until reduced to six parts. Strain and take warm before meals.
To treat Women's Blood Division disease characterized by limb edema, panting, and difficult urination, use Hanfangji San Formula (Han Fangji Powder).
Hanfangji (Radix Stephaniae Tetrandrae, 0.5 liang) Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis, 0.5 liang, sliced and lightly stir-fried) Chifuling (Poria cum Radix Polypori, 3 fen) Dafupi (Pericarpium Arecae, 3 fen, sliced) Qianhu (Radix Peucedani, 3 fen, rhizome removed) Qingju pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride, 0.5 liang, soaked in water, white pith removed, dried)
The above ingredients are crushed, sifted, and made into a powder. Each dose consists of 4 qian. Take with one zhong of water. Decoct until reduced to six parts. Strain and take warm before meals.

Yuliren (Semen Pruni Armeniacae, 1 liang, soaked in water, skin removed, stir-fried until slightly yellow) Guixin (Cortex Cinnamomi, 0.5 liang) Binglang (Semen Arecae, 3 fen) Qianniuzi (Semen Phaseoli, 1 liang, lightly stir-fried) Muxiang (Radix Aucklandiae, 0.5 liang) Qingju pi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae Viride, 0.5 liang, soaked in water, white pith removed, dried)
