Infantile congenital red eyes (Tai Chi) refers to the condition where, due to inadequate cleaning of the eyes at birth, impure fluids soak into the eyes, causing the eyelids to become red and ulcerated. If this persists for a long time without healing, it is termed "congenital red eyes."
To treat infantile congenital red eyes characterized by swelling and pain caused by wind-toxin attack, use Shengma San (Cimicifugae Powder).
Chuan Shengma (Rhizoma Cimicifugae), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix, crushed), Xuan Shen (Scrophulariae Radix), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried until slightly red and crushed, each half tael above), Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu shavings), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove root head), Rui Ren (Pruni Semen).
The above herbs are coarsely ground and sieved into a powder. Take one qian per dose, decoct with one small cup of water until reduced to five fen, strain the dregs, add Ban Zhu Li (Bambusae Sap in Taeniam), and boil for two or three more boils.
To treat infantile congenital red eyes with swelling, pain, and heat stagnation in the upper jiao, use Maimendong San (Ophiopogonis Powder).
Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, remove heart and roast), Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu shavings), Chuan Mang Xiao (Natrii Sulfas), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove root head), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried and stir-fried until slightly red and crushed, each half tael above).
The above herbs are coarsely ground and sieved into a powder. Take one qian per dose, decoct with one small cup of water until reduced to five fen, strain the dregs, and administer warm doses according to the child's age and size.
To treat infantile congenital red eyes that have persisted for a long time without healing, use Niuhuang Wan (Calculus Bovis Pill).
Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis, one fen, finely ground), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, half tael, remove stamens), Jue Ming Zi (Cassiae Semen, one fen), Rui Ren (Pruni Semen, one fen, soaked in hot water and skin removed), Xi Jiao (Rhinocerotis Cornu shavings, half tael).
The above herbs are ground into fine powder, mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of hemp seeds. Take five pills per dose with warm water, three to four times daily, adjusting dosage according to the child's size.
To treat infantile congenital red eyes with ulceration, use Huanglian Wan (Coptidis Pill).
Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, one tael, remove stamens), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove root head), Long Dan (Gentianae Radix, remove root head), Chuan Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and slightly stir-fried), Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, each half tael above).
The above herbs are ground into fine powder, mixed with refined honey to form pills the size of mung beans. Take seven pills per dose with warm water, three times daily, adjusting dosage according to the child's size.
To treat infantile eyes with chronic congenital redness accompanied by nebula (corneal opacity), use Xingren Gao (Armeniacae Semen Album Ointment).
Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Album, one tael, soaked in hot water, skin and tip removed, ground into paste), Ni Fen (Calomelas, one fen), Yan Lv (Vitriolum Cupri, one fen, finely ground), Huang Lian Mo (Coptidis Rhizoma powder, one fen).
Grind the above ingredients together until uniform. Mix with genuine Su (Butyrum) to form an ointment. Spread in a copper bowl. Take a piece of cooked mustard seed the size of a chicken egg, dig a small pit, place it inside, burn mugwort to produce smoke... [Text implies fumigation or specific application method involving milk, though text is fragmented]. *Note: The original text here is fragmented ("nei shao ai yan chu" followed by "ru zhi"). It likely describes a fumigation or mixing process.*
For infantile congenital red eyes of long duration, apply Tong Qing San (Chrysocollae Powder).
Tong Qing (Chrysocolla, one fen), Ni Fen (Calomelas, one fen), Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum, half fen), Gan Di Long (Pheretima, one earthworm, ground into powder).
Grind the above ingredients to extreme fineness. Use a quantity no larger than a half soybean to instill into the eyes, once or twice daily.
To treat infantile congenital red eyes, use Long Nao Jian (Borneolum Decoction).
Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum, one fen), Yan Lv (Vitriolum Cupri, half tael), Rui Ren (Pruni Semen, one fen, soaked in hot water and skin removed).
Grind all ingredients finely. Mix with honey to a consistency similar to face cream. Instill three to four times daily.
To treat infantile eyes with wind-induced congenital redness and ulceration, frequent attacks regardless of duration, tearing upon viewing objects, and unbearable aching pain, use Huang Lian Jian (Coptidis Decoction).
Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, one tael, remove stamens), Lu Hui (Aloe, one fen), Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum, one fen, separately ground).
First, grind Huang Lian and Aloe into powder. Wrap in new cotton. Decoct in one large cup of water in a silver vessel using a double-boiler method. Wait for the medicinal juice... [Text cuts off].

Add a little water. Grind all ingredients finely until resembling milk. Instill three to four times daily.
To treat infantile eyes with congenital redness, itching, and pain, use formula.
Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum, half qian, finely ground), Sang Ye (Mori Folium, five taels, burned to ash).
Use two and a half sheng of water. First decoct the Sang Ye ash, collect half a sheng. Filter through cotton to remove dregs. Then add Long Nao and mix well. Apply three to four times daily... [Text cuts off].
