The accumulation disease of the Heart is named Fuliang (Vermiform Accumulation). It originates above the umbilicus, with a size resembling an arm, extending upward to below the heart. This condition is typically acquired in autumn on Geng-Xin days (days associated with Metal Qi) due to the transmission of pathogenic factors from the Kidney to the Heart. Why is this so? Because the pathogenic factors of Kidney disease transmit to the Heart.
To treat Fuliang Qi, where Qi stagnates above the umbilicus and below the heart, forming a firm, beam-like knot, causing discomfort in the chest and diaphragm, and reduced food intake, it is appropriate to administer Fangkui San Powder.
Fangkui (1 liang), Jing Sanleng (Polygoni Conjugati Rhizoma, 1 liang, processed until cracked), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex Ramulus, 1 liang), Chishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, 1 liang each), Biejia (Trionycis Carapax et Plastrum, 1.5 liang, brushed with vinegar and roasted). The above ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Add 1 zhong of water and 0.5 fen of fresh ginger, decoct until 6 fen remains, strain, and take warm before meals.
To treat Fuliang Qi, which lies horizontally across the epigastrium, feeling hard and causing stifling distress, preventing eating, it is appropriate to administer Biejia San Powder.
Biejia (Trionycis Carapax et Plastrum, 1.5 liang, brushed with vinegar, roasted until yellow, remove skirt edges), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus, 0.5 liang, soaked in hot water seven times, dried and lightly roasted), Yuliren (Prunus japonica seed, 1 liang, soaked in hot water, skin removed), Binglang (Arecae Semen, 1 liang). The above ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Add 1 zhong of water and 0.5 fen of fresh ginger, decoct until 6 fen remains, strain, and take warm before meals.
To treat Fuliang Qi, characterized by hardness, urgency, fullness, and stifling in the epigastrium, inability to eat, and pain in the chest and back, it is appropriate to administer Banxia San Powder.
Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, 1.5 liang, washed in hot water seven times to remove slipperiness), Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 1 liang, cut into small pieces and lightly roasted), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex Ramulus, 1 liang), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix, 1 liang, remove rhizome head), Jing Sanleng (Polygoni Conjugati Rhizoma, 1 liang, cut into small pieces, mixed with vinegar and roasted), Chishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, 1 liang). The above ingredients are crushed, sifted into powder. Take 3 qian per dose. Add 1 zhong of water and 0.5 fen of fresh ginger, decoct until 6 fen remains, strain, and take warm at any time.
To treat Fuliang Qi, which is firmly knotted in the epigastrium, large and horizontal like an arm, with gradually decreasing food intake and emaciation of limbs, it is appropriate to administer Chuan Wutou Wan Pill.
Chuan Wutou (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata, 0.5 liang, processed until cracked, remove skin and navel), Yuanhua (Genkwa Flos, 0.5 liang, mixed with vinegar and roasted until dry), Jing Sanleng (Polygoni Conjugati Rhizoma, 0.5 liang, cut into small pieces, mixed with vinegar and roasted), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex Ramulus, 0.5 liang), Chishao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, 1.5 liang). The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. First, boil 3 sheng of rice vinegar until slightly thick, add a little flour to make paste, mix with the powder, pound 200-300 times, and form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take 10 pills per dose, with warm wine, before meals.
To treat Fuliang Qi, lying horizontally across the epigastrium, firm and unresolving, with frequent pain radiating from the chest to the back, it is appropriate to administer Ganqi Wan Pill.
Ganqi (Dammaris Resina, 1 liang, crushed and roasted until smoke appears), Chuan Wutou (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata, 0.5 liang, remove skin and navel, cut into small pieces, mixed with salt and roasted until yellow), Yuanhua (Genkwa Flos, 1 liang, mixed with vinegar and roasted until yellow), Jing Sanleng (Polygoni Conjugati Rhizoma, 1 liang, cut into small pieces, mixed with vinegar and roasted), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex Ramulus, 1 liang). The above ingredients are ground into fine powder, mixed evenly. Form pills using vinegar-boiled flour paste, the size of mung beans. Take 10 pills per dose before meals, with warm wine.
To treat Fuliang Qi, long-standing accumulation in the epigastrium, large and horizontal like an arm, intermittent pain attacks, tightness below the chest, and fullness/stifling in the abdomen and hypochondrium, it is appropriate to administer Pengsha Jian Wan Pill.
Pengsha (Borax, 2 liang, pure without stone impurities, finely ground, boiled with half a sheng of wine and half a sheng of vinegar until paste-like), Ganqi (Dammaris Resina, 1 liang, crushed and roasted until smoke appears), Guixin (Cinnamomi Cortex Ramulus, 1 liang), Jing Sanleng (Polygoni Conjugati Rhizoma, 1 liang, cut into small pieces, mixed with vinegar and roasted), Binglang (Arecae Semen, 1 liang). The above ingredients are ground into fine powder, added to the Pengsha paste, along with a little steamed dough, mixed and formed into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take daily on an empty stomach with warm wine.
To treat Fuliang Qi, causing fullness and obstruction in the chest and heart, vexing pain in the back and shoulders, inability to eat, and weakness in the four limbs, it is appropriate to administer Dahuang Jian Wan Pill.
Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 3 liang, cut into small pieces, lightly roasted, separately ground into powder, boiled with one sheng of wine and one sheng of vinegar until paste-like), Jing Sanleng (Polygoni Conjugati Rhizoma, 1 liang, cut into small pieces, mixed with vinegar and roasted until dry), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 1 liang), Jupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 1 liang). The above ingredients are ground into fine powder, added to the Dahuang paste, along with a little steamed dough, mixed and formed into pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take daily on an empty stomach with warm wine.
To treat Fuliang Qi, lying horizontally across the epigastrium, preventing food intake, this formula is appropriate.
Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 1 liang), Pengsha (Borax, 1 liang, pure without stone impurities, finely ground and added), Chuan Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma, 2 liang, cut into small pieces, mixed with vinegar and roasted until dry). The above ingredients are ground into powder, mixed evenly with the finely ground Pengsha. Form pills using wine-boiled flour paste, the size of paulownia seeds. Take before meals with ginger-infused water.
To treat Fuliang Qi, knotting and accumulating in the epigastrium without dispersing:
Xiaoshi (Natrii Nitras, 0.5 liang), Qianniu Zi (Pharbitidis Semen, 1 liang), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 0.5 liang). The above ingredients are ground into fine powder. Add to 2 sheng of rice vinegar, simmer slowly until thick, add a little flour paste, mix and form pills the size of paulownia seeds.
Another prescription:
Taonuo (Pruni Persicae Fructus Immaturus, 3 liang). The above ingredient is ground into fine powder. Take 2 qian before meals, mixed with warm wine.
