Elaeocarpus aculeatus injury (referred to as "evil thorn" or toxic prickly wound in ancient texts), occurs when the urine of a venomous snake contaminates plants. Upon contact with human skin, it feels like being pricked by a needle, followed immediately by swelling, pain, and muscle necrosis. If it affects the hands or feet, it may lead to the sloughing off of finger or toe joints.
Formula for treating Elaeocarpus aculeatus injury:
Vulpis ossis foxis cinis (Fox bone ash) (1 fen)
Mel cruda (Raw honey) (a small amount)
Allii fistulosi bulb (Hushu / Chinese onion) (a small amount)
Grind the above ingredients together. Seal with paper pasted with vinegar-flour paste for three days. The thorn will naturally emerge.
Longkui Gao Formula for treating Elaeocarpus aculeatus injury:
Solanum lyratum root (Longkui gen) (0.5 liang)
Daturae fructus (Langdang zi) (0.5 liang)
Huyan ke (Swallow's nest material from specific wild species) (0.5 liang)
Unicellular garlic bulb (Duke suan) (0.5 liang)
Coriandri fructus (Huisui zi) (0.5 liang)
Mus cervi excrementium (Shu fen / Rat feces) (0.5 liang)
Prunus armeniaca seed (Xing ren) (0.5 liang, soaked in decoction, peel and tip removed, double-kernel, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow)
Glycine max fermentum (Chi / Fermented soybean) (0.5 liang)
Mix the above ingredients with sauce rice, pound thoroughly, and mix with vinegar to apply as a plaster. Change once daily. Recovery is expected after five applications.
