In febrile diseases, when the three Yang meridians are affected, the pathogen remains at the exterior. The toxic qi of the pathogen attacks outward, following along the Fengfu (GV16) acupoint and entering the brain. Consequently, this causes high fever, headache, and stagnation in the chest and diaphragm. If the pulse is floating and rapid, treatment via sweating or emesis will result in recovery.
