Accumulation and mass disorders arise from the dysfunction of the Zang and Fu organs. The retention of undigested food is due to cold pathogenic factors invading the Zang and Fu organs, resulting in deficiency-cold of the Spleen and Stomach, which fails to transform water and grain.
For accumulation with Qi stagnation, Spleen and Stomach deficiency, inability to digest food leading to retained undigested food, and distending pain in the hypochondrium, it is appropriate to take Jing San Leng Powder (Caulis Bistortae Powder).
Ingredients: Caulis Bistortae (Jing San Leng) (1 liang, processed and crushed), Cinnamomi Ramulus (Gui Xin) (3 fen), Caryophylli Flos (Ding Xiang) (0.5 liang), Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus (Yi Zhi Ren) (3 fen, peeled), Aucklandiae Radix (Mu Xiang) (0.5 liang), Arecae Pericarpium (Da Fu Pi), Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Gan Jiang) (roasted flesh), Chi Shao Yao (Red Peony Root) [Text is fragmented here].
The above ingredients are coarsely ground into a powder. Each dose consists of 2 qian (or 3 qian). Add one zhong of water, half a fen of fresh ginger, and three jujubes. Decoct until six parts remain, then strain.
For accumulation and retained undigested food causing emaciation and weakness in the four limbs, it is appropriate to take He Li Le Powder (Terminalia Chebula Powder).
