Jin Ji (Tendon Extremity Disorder) is primarily associated with the Liver. The Liver corresponds to the tendons, and the tendons harmonize with the Liver. Liver pathology often manifests through the tendons. It is also stated that encountering wind in spring leads to Jin Bi (Tendon Bi Syndrome). If Jin Bi persists untreated, it predisposes the body to recurrent wind invasion, resulting in stiffness and inability to turn; the root of this condition lies in the pulse abnormalities.
For treating Jin Ji characterized by tendon tension, irritability, dry mouth, and persistent heat, the appropriate method is to regulate the blood vessels and relieve vexation. Use Huang San Powder.
Ingredients: Huang (2 liang, crushed), Suan Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, 2 liang, lightly stir-fried), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Cortex, 2 liang), Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum, 3 liang), Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis, 2 liang, crushed), Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, 2 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Pound the above ingredients into a coarse powder and sieve. Take 4 qian per dose. Add one zhong zhan of water, decoct until reduced to six parts, remove the dregs, and take warm at any time.
For treating Jin Ji characterized by limb spasms, neck and head stiffness, cyanotic nails, and distending pain in the hypochondrium, use Ling Yang Jiao San Powder.
Ingredients: Ling Yang Jiao Xie (Saiga Tatarica Cornu, 1 liang), Wu Jia Pi (Acanthopanacis Cortex, 1 liang), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, 3 fen, remove radicle), Suan Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, 1 liang, lightly stir-fried), Chi Fu Ling (Poria with Red Hosta Root, 3 fen), Gan Cao (Licorice Root, stir-baked with bran until slightly yellow, 3 fen), Xiong Qiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 3 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Pound and sieve the above ingredients into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Add one zhong zhan of water and half a fen of fresh ginger, decoct until reduced to six parts, remove the dregs, and take warm at any time.
For treating Jin Ji characterized by bluish complexion, irritability, tight painful hypochondrium, and spastic tendons in hands and feet, use Yi Yi Ren San Powder.
Ingredients: Yi Yi Ren (Coicis Semen, 1 liang), Suan Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, 1 liang, lightly stir-fried), Chi Fu Ling (Poria with Red Hosta Root, 3 fen), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Cortex, 3 fen), Bai Zi Ren (Platycladi Semen, 1 liang), Ling Yang Jiao Xie (Saiga Tatarica Cornu, 1 liang), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix, 3 fen), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen, 3 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Pound and sieve the above ingredients into a powder. Take 4 qian per dose. Add one zhong zhan of water and half a fen of fresh ginger, decoct until reduced to six parts, remove the dregs, and take warm at any time.
For treating Jin Ji caused by wind-cold injury, resulting in spastic bi-syndrome and numbness, use Qiang Huo San Powder.
Ingredients: Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, 1 liang), Tian Ma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma, 1 liang), Xiong Qiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 3 fen), Suan Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, 1 liang, lightly stir-fried), Lu Jiao Jiao (Colla Cornus Cervi, 1 liang, crushed and stir-fried until dry), Ling Yang Jiao Xie (Saiga Tatarica Cornu, 3 fen), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix, 1 liang), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, soaked in wine, remove white pith and navel, 1 liang), Di Gu Pi (Lycii Cortex, 1 liang).

*Note: The original text here is incomplete; traditionally, honey and butter would be added to form a paste or decoction.*
