When an arrow penetrates the bone and causes bone fracture, it is necessary to extract the arrowhead and remove all fragmented bone pieces. Subsequently, apply medicine. Otherwise, the wound will never heal; even if it heals, pain will persist. If further contact or injury occurs, blood may boil and burst, leading to death.
**Xionghuang Wan (Realgar Pill) for Extracting Arrowheads:**
- Xionghuang (Realgar) (1 fen)
- Qianglang (Dung Beetle) (1 fen, ground)
- Buhui Mu (Non-ash Wood) (1 fen, fired red with cow dung)
- Weilingxian (Clematis Root) (1 fen)
- Chaoshenghua (Morning-Blooming Flower) (1 fen)
- Shu (Mouse) (1 specimen, head removed, blood collected)
Grind the above ingredients into powder. Mix with mouse blood and refined honey to form pills the size of yellow millet grains. Insert into the wound; the arrowhead will spontaneously expel regardless of how long it has been embedded.
**Badou Wan (Croton Seed Pill) for Treating Embedded Arrowheads:**
- Badou (Crotonis Fructus) (1 specimen, skin removed)
- Nifen (Calomel) (1 qian)
- Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide) (a small amount, finely ground)
- Cishi (Magnetitum) (0.5 liang, finely ground)
- Qianglang (Dung Beetle) (1 specimen)
Grind the above ingredients into powder. Mix with egg white to form pills the size of mung beans. First, puncture the scar of the arrow wound with a needle. Dissolve one pill in infant milk and apply topically.
**Another Prescription:**
- Xionghuang (Realgar) (1 fen)
- Qianglang (Dung Beetle) (1 fen)
- Nifen (Calomel) (1 fen)
- Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide) (1 fen)
- Badou (Crotonis Fructus) (1 fen, skin removed)
Grind all ingredients into powder. Moisten the tip of a chopstick with infant milk, dip into the powder, and apply into the wound. Itching will occur; within two or three applications, the arrowhead will be expelled.
**Another Prescription:**
- Banmao (Mylabris) (27 specimens)
- Qianglang (Dung Beetle) (11 specimens)
- Pengsha (Borax) (1 qian)
Grind the ingredients into a fine powder using a fine sieve. Place entirely inside a bamboo tube, seal the opening, and bury in a latrine for seven days. Retrieve and bury again in a shady place for another seven days. Retrieve and store in a porcelain box. When needed, apply a small amount to the wound; the arrowhead will spontaneously expel.
**Banxia San (Pinellia Powder) for Golden Wounds with Embedded Arrowheads:**
- Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) (1 liang, washed seven times in hot water to remove acridity)
- Bailian (Ampelopsis Radix) (1 liang)
- Mudan (Moutan Cortex) (1 liang)
- Sanggen Baipi (Mori Cortex) (2 liang, sliced)
Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Take 1 qian mixed with warm wine per dose, three times daily.
**Prescription for Golden Wounds with Non-Expelling Arrowheads:**
- Bailian (Ampelopsis Radix) (1 liang)
- Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) (1 liang, washed seven times in hot water to remove acridity)
Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. Take 1 qian mixed with warm wine per dose, three times daily. Superficial wounds expel within ten days; deep wounds within twenty days.
- Qicao (Ground Cricket Larva) (5 dried specimens)
- Lougu (Mole Cricket) (3 dried specimens)
- Chixiaodou (Adzuki Bean) (1 fen)
- Chi Liyu (Red Carp) (1 liang)
- Pengsha (Borax) (1 qian)
- Honghua (Carthami Flos) powder (3 qian)
Grind all ingredients finely. Mix [medium missing in text, likely honey or oil] to form pills the size of mung beans. If the wound opening exists, insert one pill directly; if not, puncture with a needle and insert medication. Within three to five pills, the arrowhead will move automatically and can be extracted with gentle shaking.
**Prescription for Arrowheads Embedded in Bone Causing Unbearable Pain:**
- Badou (Crotonis Fructus) (3 specimens, skin removed)
- Qianglang (Dung Beetle) (3 specimens, raw use)
Mix and grind extremely finely. Apply to the injured area. Pain will subside shortly, followed by mild itching. Endure until the itching becomes unbearable, then shake and pull out the arrowhead. Immediately apply Shengji Gao (Flesh-Regenerating Ointment) for miraculous effect.
**Prescription for Golden Wounds with Crushed Bones, Redness, Swelling, and Pain:**
- Majiang Hui (Ash from Horse Bridle) (1 liang)
- Gongxian Hui (Ash from Bowstring) (1 liang)
Mix and grind evenly. Take 1 qian mixed with Polygonum tinctorium juice per dose, three times daily.
**Mudan San (Moutan Powder) for Non-Expelling Arrowheads:**
- Mudan (Moutan Cortex) (0.5 liang)
- Yan (Sal) (0.5 liang)
- Bailian (Ampelopsis Radix) (0.5 liang)
Grind into a fine powder. Take 2 qian mixed with warm wine before meals.
**Immediate Effect Prescription for Non-Expelling Arrowheads:**
Apply powdered black sheep manure to the site. Wait for the wound to open, then drip blood from a live mouse into the wound. The arrowhead will expel shortly.
**Prescription for Arrowheads in Throat, Chest, Diaphragm, or Other Locations:**
Apply mouse brain topically and smear with mouse head blood. This is also effective for broken needles that cannot be extracted.
**Another Prescription:**
Apply mole cricket brain topically; the object will expel.
**Prescription for Arrowheads Embedded in the Abdomen:**
Cook adzuki beans thoroughly, extract 2 sheng of juice, and alternate drinking with wine until finished.
**Prescription for Arrowheads Embedded in Flesh:**
Extract juice from crushed mole crickets and drip into the wound. Repeat three to five times; the arrowhead will spontaneously expel.
