The Spleen and Stomach are the source of the essence from water and grain. They transform this essence into Qi and Blood. When Qi and Blood are abundant, Ying (Nutritive) and Wei (Defensive) Qi flow freely and smoothly, moistening and nourishing the body shape, and prospering the muscles. If the Zang-Fu organs are deficient, and the Spleen and Stomach are weak and injured, leading to an inability to eat, then Qi and Blood will decrease, resulting in emaciation of the body.
For chronic deficiency of Spleen and Stomach Qi, weakness in the four limbs, deficiency damage to the Zang-Fu organs, lack of appetite, progressive emaciation, and trembling due to bodily weakness, it is suitable to take Caodoukou San (Cardamom Seed Powder).
Caodoukou (Tsaoko Fructus, 草豆蔻) (half liang, peeled) Qingjupi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, 青橘皮) (half liang, soaked in boiling water, white pith removed, dried) Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 人参) (one liang, radix removed) Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus, 桂心) (half liang) Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 附子) (one liang, stir-fried with bran until slightly yellow)

Decoct until six fen remains, remove the dregs. Drink while slightly warm at any time. Avoid cold, raw, greasy, damp wheat noodles, pork, and dog meat.
