Specializes in treating hemiplegia on the left or right side. (Formula from Zhang Huiyou)
Sheng Gan Di Huang (Raw Prepared Rehmanniae Radix), Man Jing Zi (Vitex Fruit, peeled), Bai Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus, stir-fried, silk and head removed, each 1 fen), Wu Ling Zhi (Trogopterus Dung, skin removed, 0.5 liang), Zhi Zhu Hua (Rhododendron Dauricum Flower).
The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder. A paste is made by boiling Ban Xia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) powder with wine. The mixture is formed into pills the size of a longan fruit. Each pill is divided into four doses, taken orally with wine, twice daily. (This formula was passed down by an elderly surnamed Zhong living in Wuyi Alley, Jiankang Prefecture. He loved Daoism all his life, worshipping Maoshan morning and night. Due to excessive drinking, he accidentally suffered from wind disease, which resisted all treatments. One day, a Daoist priest appeared, stating that his drunkenness was too severe, and instructed him to take this medicine. The priest then vanished. Upon taking it, the effect was indeed verified, revealing it to be an immortal prescription.)
Treats all types of wind pathogens affecting men and women, attacking the limbs, causing joint pain, generalized numbness and stiffness, dizziness and turbidity of the head and eyes, and tendon spasm. Also treats Hong Kong Foot (Gout/Charcot's Joint Disease), difficulty in walking, and weakness of the feet and knees. Treats women's Blood Wind disease, cold stabbing pain in the elderly, abdominal distension, vomiting, diarrhea, and borborygmus.
Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba, roots and nodes removed), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, pith removed), Wu Yao (Linderae Radix, woody part removed, each 2 liang), Bai Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus, silk and head removed, stir-fried), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma).
The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder. For each dose, take 3 qian, add one cup of water, three slices of ginger, and one jujube. Decoct until only 70% remains, and take warm. If suffering from common cold in any season with aversion to cold and high fever, headache, and limb fatigue, add 3 cun of scallion white, decoct together, and take; sweating indicates efficacy. If suffering from body pain due to sprain or strain, mix with warm wine for administration. For generalized itching that forms sores upon scratching, decoct three leaves of Bo He (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) and take. Pregnant women should not take this. Regular use disperses wind and regulates qi.
Treats Kidney Meridian deficiency with pathogenic factors sinking to the waist and knees, or invasion of cold qi due to exposure to wind and cooling, resulting in heaviness, lack of strength, slow movement, ability to flex and extend but with dull pain in the soles of the feet, hindering standing and walking. Effectively treats dry and damp Hong Kong Foot (Gout/Charcot's Joint Disease) with redness, swelling, heat, and pain, occurring at irregular intervals, accompanied by groaning, rapid breathing, difficulty in movement, dark complexion, and constipation.
Yi Yi Ren (Coicis Semen), Shi Nan Ye (Arisaematis Cum Bile et Natrii Sulfate, prepared with ginger juice, stir-fried), Chuan Niu Xi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, soaked in wine, baked), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, coarse bark removed), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, slightly roasted), Huang Qi (Astragali Membranacei Radix, honey-roasted), Xu Duan (Dipsaci Radix, each 1 liang), Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, soaked in rice wash water, 1.5 liang), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen, 0.5 liang), Gan Mu Gua (Chaenomelis Fructum, 4 liang).
The above ingredients are ground into a fine powder. A paste is made with flour and water to form pills the size of a Chinese quince seed. Take 30 to 50 pills per dose, on an empty stomach, swallowed with warm wine or Chaenomelis Fructum decoction, two to three times daily. Regular use relaxes tendons and lightens the feet, preventing Hong Kong Foot forever. (In the past, someone suffering from this disease took it for one month, and their leg strength suddenly improved significantly, truly having the effect of changing legs...)
