(Efficacy:) Harmonizes Ying and Wei (Defensive and Nutritive Qi), unblocks blood vessels, promotes the free flow of Sanjiao (Triple Burner), and stabilizes the five Zang organs. Treats various conditions of Qi stagnation and obstruction, distension and swelling in the chest and diaphragm, vomiting with poor appetite, stabbing pain radiating across the shoulders, back, abdomen, and hypochondrium, as well as panting, rapid breathing, and cough with phlegm. It also treats puffy face and eyes, swollen and full limbs, and constipation. Furthermore, it treats palpitations and anxiety due to excessive worry or thinking, depressive accumulation, wind-heat type Hong Kong foot (Gouty Arthritis/Jiaogixue), painful swelling from qi and blood aggregation, and urgent panting with chest fullness and abdominal distension.
Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, washed seven times with hot water, 2 liang) Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, white pith removed, 2 jin) Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, rough bark removed, processed with ginger juice, stir-fried) Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, white pith and black skin removed) Gan Mugua (Chaenomelis Fructus, soaked in wine, roasted) Peng Ezhu (Curcumae Radix, baked) Mutong (Akebiae Caulis, nodes removed, 8 liang)
Grind the above herbs into coarse powder. Take 4 qian per dose, add 1.5 cups of water, 3 slices of fresh ginger, and 2 jujubes. Decoct until reduced to 0.7 parts. Strain and take hot. For Taiyang disease (Exogenous Cold Damage) with headache, at the first sign of discomfort, add 3 cun of scallion whites with roots and decoct together; this regulates Yin and Yang, and relief occurs immediately upon sweating. For spontaneous diarrhea (intestinal looseness), add Jingmi (Oryza Sativa Germen). For women's Xueqi Zhengjia (blood stasis masses), add Aicao (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) and vinegar, without restriction on timing.
Regulates all Qi movements, promotes and unblocks Sanjiao, drains stagnation, and disperses pathogenic heat. Treats stagnant and unresolved Yin and Yang Qi, toxic heat accumulation forming nodules, or lesions resembling carbuncles/furuncles but distinct, causing headache, nausea, alternating chills and fever, and rapid breathing.
