Treats accumulation in the heart, frequent irritability, and subsequent mental overthinking, physical exertion, sorrow, and depression, leading to turbid white urine, or diarrhea, post-void dribbling with dysuria, and urine red as blood; or due to excessive alcohol consumption and sexual indulgence, resulting in excess above and deficiency below, flaming heart fire affecting the lung metal, forming Xiao Ke (Wasting and Thirsting Syndrome), restless sleep, fatigue of the four limbs, five types of Lin syndrome (Strangury) in men, and leukorrhea with red and white discharge in women; as well as after illness when Qi fails to consolidate, causing heart vexation and heat. The medicinal properties are warm and balanced, neither cold nor hot. Regular consumption clears the heart and nourishes the spirit, secures essence and tonifies deficiency, moistens the intestines and stomach, and harmonizes Qi and Blood.
Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, removed core), Gubipi (Cortex Lycii Radicis), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Gancao (Licorice Root, honey-fried, each 0.5 liang), Shilianrou (Nelumbinis Plumula, removed core), Baifuling (Poria).
The above herbs are chopped into a coarse powder. Take 3 qian per dose, add 10 grains of Maidong, 1.5 zhan of water, decoct until 0.8 zhan remains, strain, cool by immersing in water, and take on an empty stomach before meals. If fever is present, add Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) and Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) for decoction.
Treats kidney Qi deficiency with lower back and back pain. This condition arises from lying on cold, damp ground while exposed to wind. If not treated promptly, the pathogen flows into the legs and knees, causing flaccidity, weakness, heavy pain, or lower back pain with heavy legs, spasms, and numbness. It should be taken immediately.
Duhuo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix, 3 liang), Sangjisheng (Taxilli Caulis [Note: *Gujin Luyan* uses Xuduan, which is also named Sangjisheng, but this is not the authentic Xuduan], Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, soaked in wine, dried), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, removed rhizome), Rougui (Cinnamomi Cortex, removed rough bark), Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex, stir-broken silk), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, soaked in wine, dried), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Fuling (Poria), Gancao (Licorice Root, honey-fried, each 2 liang).
The above herbs are chopped into a coarse powder. Take 4 qian per dose, 1.5 zhan of water, decoct until 0.7 zhan remains, strain, and take on an empty stomach. For Qi deficiency with dysentery, remove Dihuang. This formula also treats postpartum abdominal pain preventing movement, and lower back and leg spasms, pain, numbness, and weakness preventing flexion and extension. This decoction is most effective at dispelling wind and resolving blood stasis. *Zhouhou Fang* includes one Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) but lacks Sangjisheng, Renshen, Gancao, and Danggui. Modern practitioners use it to treat Li Jie Feng (Rheumatoid Arthritis/Joint Bi) and Hong Kong Jiao (Gout/Ankle Swelling) with good efficacy.

Long-standing cases may last years, with emaciation and exhaustion of the five Zang organs, making recovery difficult. It also treats deficiency of both the Lung and Large Intestine, characterized by cough, dysentery, panting, fatigue, shortness of breath, and vomiting.

The above herbs are chopped into a coarse powder. Take 4 qian per dose, 1.5 zhan of water, 3 slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), 2 dates, decoct until 0.7 zhan remains, strain, and take warm. For seminal emission or spermatorrhea, add Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi, 1 liang). For cough, adding Ejiao (Asini Corii Colla) is excellent.
