If there is food stagnation or blood stasis, with a hard and distended lower abdomen, inability to speak, fixed gaze of the eyes, and critical symptoms difficult to treat with oral medication:
Take several taels of Perilla Leaf (Zisu), decoct in water. Soak a towel in the hot decoction, wring it out, and lay it on the patient's abdomen. Rub in circular motions with both hands; replace when cool. After several repetitions, all retained feces and hard masses will pass naturally.
Consume fresh chive juice mixed with ink prepared by grinding inkstick with water. If chives are unavailable, egg white may be used as a substitute.
Take 3 qian of Vitex Fruit (Manjingzi) (stir-fried), decoct in one bowl of water until boiling three times, then drink.
Take 7 liang of old oil pine joint (Laoyou Songjie) (pounded into powder), pepper (seven grains per year of age), and two eggs. Add three large bowls of water and cook thoroughly. First, drink half a cup of the broth. Then, use one egg to massage the chest and abdomen; replace when cool. Continue until the chest and diaphragm feel clear and comfortable.
Stir-fry black soybeans until dry, then immerse them in hot wine. Drink or administer forcibly. If vomiting occurs, administer again. The treatment is considered effective when sweating ensues.
Take half a jin of old ginger, slice and crush, then stir-fry until hot. Wrap in cotton cloth. Two people each hold a bundle. First rub the palms of the hands and soles of the feet, then rub the anterior chest and posterior back. Replace if cool. Continue until the body feels hot, allowing cold pathogenic factors to exit naturally. Recovery may occur through spontaneous sweating or the appearance of fine red macules/papules.
Cover the tendon at the patient's heel with a wet towel. Bite down firmly with the mouth without releasing. Tighten slightly after a moment, then tighten again before releasing. Repeat this biting and tightening process three times for biting and nine times for tightening. Recovery occurs with generalized sweating. (For males, use the left side; for females, the right side. An assistant must restrain the patient to prevent movement.)
Take half a jin of scallion, one jin of wheat bran, one jin of salt, and four liang of dried ginger. Stir-fry together until hot. Wrap in blue cloth and apply as a hot compress to the umbilicus. Reheat and reapply as it cools. Continue until the hands and feet are warm and a pulse is palpable.
Additionally, collect luffa leaf on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, dry in shade, and powder. Take 1 qian per dose for recovery.
In cases where hands and feet appear purple-black: Take 3 he of black soybean (Heiliaodou), stir-fry until hot, decoct in good wine, and drink. (Adding scallion white during decoction is especially beneficial.)
In cases of severe abdominal pain with a cyanotic face: Take a large pinch of pigeon droppings, grind into fine powder, and administer with hot wine while inhaling the fumes. Cover with blankets to induce sweating for recovery. (A small amount ingested orally is also acceptable.)
