Treats all kinds of drug poison, *Zizania latifolia* seed poison, *Aconitum ferox* (Shu Mang) poison, poisonous mushroom poison, miasma, mineral and metal toxicity, plague, poison from dead cattle, horses, and meat, pufferfish poison, seasonal epidemic plague, mountain mist and malaria, acute throat closure with strangling wind, throat wind and spleen disease, yellow swelling and red eyes, carbuncles and boils infection, attack by cold, summerheat, and heat toxins upward, as well as hanging or drowning, bruises and injuries, carbuncle and back abscess not yet ruptured, fish-umbilicus sore swelling, scald and fire injury, bites from hundreds of insects, dogs, rats, and snakes. For men and women who have been possessed by evil spirits causing madness and running around, or suffering from ghost fetus and ghost qi, this medicine is suitable for use. It is indispensable for anyone living at home or traveling; it is truly a book that saves the world and protects families. Poisonous substances are most abundant in Lingnan. If one travels far to the regions beyond the ridges, and just feels unwell, taking this medicine immediately brings peace. In the valleys of Liangguang (Guangdong and Guangxi), there is a herb called Human, also known as Intestine-Breaking Grass. Swallowing it with urgent water causes rapid death, while swallowing it with slow water causes delayed death. Also, take a venomous snake, kill it, cover it with this grass, sprinkle water on it, and after several days, mushrooms grow on it. Take these, grind them into powder, mix with wine to administer poison. Initially, there is no harm, but drinking wine afterwards causes the poison to activate and leads to immediate death. In local customs, promiscuous women often prepare this themselves. When northern people have intimate relations with them, they are often unwilling to let the northern men return. Secretly placing the poison in food, they warn the northern man upon his departure: "You will return in such-and-such year." If he obeys and returns, he can be saved with an antidote; if he does not return on time, he will surely die. This is called the "Year-Determining Medicine." Northern people going there should keep this in mind. If one feels poisoned and experiences imbalance of the Four Elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind), take this medicine immediately. Alternatively, add the medicine to meat such as chicken, pig, cow, sheep, goose, or duck, and eat it again; this substance will trigger the poison. Taking one pill of this medicine results in vomiting or diarrhea, and recovery follows promptly. In the past, a woman suffered from chronic consumption disease (Lao Zhai) for a long time, her body being devoured by corpse worms. She ground and took one pill, vomited violently for a while, and expelled over a thousand small worms, one large worm split into two pieces. Later, she only took Suhe Xiang Wan (Styrax Pill) for half a month and returned to normal. Even for poisoning of cattle, horses, and livestock, this medicine is used for rescue with universal efficacy.
Wenge (Clam Shell) (5 liang, select those with yellow color, crush and wash clean; Ben Cao states: Wubeizi [Chinese Gall] is also named Wenge) Shanzigu (Colchicum autumnale bulb) (2 jin) Xusuisi (Euphorbia lathyris seed) (remove sprouts, grind finely, press between paper to remove oil, then grind, 1 liang) Hongye Daji (Euphorbia pekinensis root with red leaves) (1.5 liang, clean wash) Shexiang (Musk) (3 qian, grind)
Grind each ingredient into fine powder and mix evenly. Use glutinous rice porridge as a binder to form pills. Divide each batch into forty pills. Prepare during Dragon Boat Festival, Double Ninth Festival, or Qixi Festival. For emergency use, Chen day is also acceptable. Pound in a wooden mortar hundreds of times. Do not allow women, mourners, physically incomplete persons, chickens, or dogs to see it. Keep it secret and precious; do not disseminate widely, for neglecting this will render it ineffective. For carbuncle and back abscess not yet ruptured, grind with cold water and apply to the painful area, and also take the ground mixture orally for a long time; itching subsides immediately. For Yin-Yang Er Du (Two Poisons), typhoid with chest stuffiness, delirious speech, chest and diaphragm stagnation, undischarged pathogenic toxins, as well as plague, mountain mist, miasma, and strangling throat wind, add one mint leaf to cold water, grind together, and swallow. For acute possession by evil spirits, shouting and running wildly, ghost fetus, and ghost qi, swallow with warm, ash-free wine. For hanging or drowning where the heart remains warm, or sudden death due to fright or spirit confusion within one night, grind with cold water and force-feed. For snake, dog, or centipede bites, grind with cold water and apply to the wound. For various types of malaria regardless of new or old onset, decoct peach and willow branch soup, grind the pill in it, and swallow during an attack. For pediatric acute or chronic convulsions, five types of malnutrition (Gan), and eight types of dysentery, grind with honey water and one mint leaf. For locked jaw, grind one pill, divide into three doses, and administer according to age/size. For toothache, grind with wine, apply, and hold a small amount in the mouth to swallow. For scalds and fire injuries, grind with flowing water from the east and apply to the injured area. For bruises and injuries, swallow with roasted pine node and ash-free wine. For chronic headaches, especially pain in the Taiyang region, grind with wine and mint leaves and apply to both Taiyang acupoints. For various epilepsy cases, facial paralysis (mouth and eye deviation), eye twitching, excessive salivation at night, slurred speech, sudden stroke, locked jaw, muscle and tendon tension, joint wind-pathogen, limb pain, difficulty walking, and numbness/pain in limbs due to wind, grind with wine and swallow. Pregnant women must not take this.
