Soak calcined stone (Duan Shi) in hot water, wait for it to cool, then wash the affected area and soak for a prolonged period until healed.
Have the patient lie transversely prone on the back of a yellow ox, place a chopstick in their mouth to allow fluid drainage, and rub their teeth with old ginger; they will recover.
Apply powdered Realgar (Xiong Huang) to the affected area; recovery occurs when profuse sweating ensues.
Administer pure wine to revive the patient.
Take one handful of Cirsii Japonici Herba (Da Ji), squeeze out the juice. Mix with half a cup of good wine and take in one dose. If fresh herbs are unavailable, use dried herbs ground into powder, taking three qian (approx. 9g); this is also effective.
Strictly avoid illuminating with fire. Bite firmly at the edge of the big toenail and spit on the patient's face to restore consciousness. If they do not wake up, pour chive juice into the nostrils to revive them.
If a person arrives at an inn or an unoccupied cold room, falls asleep, and feels oppressed or beaten by spirits, making "eh eh" sounds and unresponsive to calls, death is inevitable without rescue. The method uses Realgar (Xiong Huang) and Niu Yin each one qian, and Cinnabar (Zhu Sha) three fen. Grind into powder and mix evenly. Burn one qian under the bed and administer the other qian mixed with warm wine orally.
Crash winter melon (Dong Gua) and drink the juice.
Drink Perillae Fructus juice (Zi Su).
Asari Radix et Rhizoma (Xi Xin) and Angelicae Dahuricae Radix (Bai Zhi) each five qian, Realgar (Xiong Huang) five fen. Grind into powder. Take two qian per dose, mixed with good wine.
Hui (roundworms/ascarids), long worms residing in the human abdomen. Take ten jin of Siegesbeckiae Herba (Xu Shu), cut finely; boil in one shi of water until reduced to one dou, remove dregs, and simmer until thick like malt syrup. After fasting overnight, take one sheng on an empty stomach; the worms will be expelled. The "Song of the High Seas" states: "Heartache is unbearable, I have the Immortal's Sea Prescription." Xu Shu boiled with vinegar opens the heart and throat, ensuring health within moments.
First eat a slice of pork, then take four qian of lead ash (Qian Hui) mixed with sugar water, administered at wu geng (early morning). Previously, Scholar Xu had this condition and used this prescription, expelling two worms. They were two chi five cun long, with spotted patterns, identified as Taenia solium (Cun Bai Chong / tapeworm).
Another prescription:
Take a piece of pork, mix with calcined stone (Duan Shi) overnight. The next day, remove the ash, roast the meat, add a little sublimated salt (Fei Yan), and eat it; this is effective.
Fill a clean vessel with one cup of freshly drawn well water. Face east and silently chant: "Earnestly request the Supreme Lord, East-flowing water rushes, urgent as the Southern Ten Thousand Fire Emperor's decree." Chant seven times in one breath, then blow one breath into the water. Repeat this seven times. Have the patient drink this water, and the affliction will be resolved immediately.
