Pregnant women suddenly experience dizziness and chest stuffiness, loss of consciousness, opisthotonos (body arched backward like a bow), and recover after a short while. The condition resembles wind-stroke and is called Zi Xian (eclampsia during pregnancy). It is also referred to as Feng Zheng. It is alternatively named "Zi Jia Qin Lian Jiang Huo" or "Jiang Xia Tang Po Ni".
In pregnant women, stiff tendons, dysphasia, and phlegm, accompanied by occasional convulsions, constitute the disease known as Xian. With a floating, wiry, and slippery pulse, decocting with Cornu Saigae Tataricae (Lingyangjiao) gradually alleviates the wind pathogen.

Disordered fetal qi causes rebellious upward movement during pregnancy, resulting in abdominal distension and pain, termed Zi Xuan (pregnancy-related abdominal distension and pain). This may lead to difficult labor.
When fetal qi rushes upward to the chest and diaphragm, causing fullness, stuffiness, distension, and pain, it is called Zi Xuan. Zi Su San calms the fetal qi; taking one dose results in immediate peace.

Kidney deficiency in pregnant women leads to bladder heat. Kidney deficiency fails to control water, resulting in frequent urination. Bladder heat causes dysuria and obstruction. When the uterus is affected in pregnancy, it presents as Lin syndrome. Severe cases involve mental restlessness and agitation, termed Zi Lin (dysuria during pregnancy).
Zi Lin involves fluid accumulation in the uterus, with heat binding leading to difficult defecation and blocked qi mechanism. Anrong San is highly effective for this condition, providing remarkable relief upon administration.
