When women experience hematuria (bleeding from the urinary tract), it is because the Heart governs blood. Blood circulates throughout the body, penetrating the meridians and circulating within the zang-fu organs. The nature of blood is to become stagnant when exposed to cold, and to flow and scatter when exposed to heat. If its normal state is lost, blood overflows and渗 (seeps) into the bladder (Paomao), resulting in hematuria.
To treat sudden hematuria in women caused by heat injury. Commander Chen stated: "While I was serving in Zhanggong at the age of twenty-six, I suddenly noticed a few drops of bright red blood after urination. I was terrified, yet felt no pain whatsoever. This persisted for a month. If I did not drink alcohol, the bleeding would decrease, but it could never be completely stopped. Accidentally, a local soldier informed me that a city physician named Zhang Kang frequently treated this condition, so I summoned him. He provided a vessel of clear liquid, stating it was herbal juice, to which he added a little honey and water. After two doses, I was cured. I then rewarded him generously and inquired about the herb's name. It was *Hedyotis diffusa* (Jingmiancao / Snail-face Grass), also known as Luoye Cao, which is greenish-cyan and grows in the cracks of stone steps everywhere."

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 2 qian, mixed with wine, three times daily.
To treat hematuria. Some patients pass urine first and then blood; others pass blood first and then urine; this distinction refers to the proximity or remoteness of the lesion. It also treats conditions caused by holding urine, horseback riding, or sexual excess, which lead to bladder qi stagnation (Paozhuan), causing urgent pain below the umbilicus and obstruction. Additionally, it treats lung abscess, epistaxis, internal collapse, vomiting one or two mouthfuls of blood, or bleeding from pores on the tongue like needle holes. For epistaxis, insufflating the powder into the nose stops it immediately.

Take 2 qian of the above single ingredient, mix with 2 he of rice vinegar and a little hot water to take; mixing with well-drawn water (morning well water) is also acceptable. After taking the medicine, stir-fry black soybean leaves and squat upon them to facilitate urination.
