论曰∶非节之气，伤于妊妇；热毒之气，侵损胞胎。遂有坠胎漏血，俱害子母之命也。
治妊娠伤寒，骨节疼痛，壮热，不急治则胎落，升麻散。
葱白（切，一升） 前胡 家葛根 石膏（各十分） 青黛（六分） 升麻（八分） 栀
子仁（十二分）
上 咀，以水七升，煮取二升半，去滓，分温三服。
治妊娠时气，头痛、腰背强，壮热。前胡散。
升麻 青黛 前胡 栀子仁 黄芩（各二两） 石膏（八分） 家葛根（三两）
上 咀，以水五升，煎取二升半，去滓，分为三服。
治妊妇六、七个月，伤寒热入腹，大小便秘结不通，蒸热。石膏汤。
前胡（十分） 大黄 石膏（各二十分） 栀子仁（十枚） 知母 黄芩 茯苓 生姜
（各八分）
上水八升，煎取二升半；后下大黄，更煎三、五沸，分作三服。
治妊娠伤寒。苦热不止，身上斑出，忽赤忽黑，小便如血，气欲绝，胎欲落。栀子仁饮。
栀子仁 升麻（各四两） 青黛（二两） 石膏（八两） 葱白（切，一升） 黄芩（三
两） 生地黄（二十分）
上 咀，以水九升。煎取三升，去滓，作三服。忌热物。
治妊娠时气，身大热。令子不落。护胎方。
伏龙肝（研令极细）
上水调，涂脐下二寸，干则易，瘥即止。泔清亦可。
又方∶井中泥涂心下，干则易。（二方出《本事》，再录有效）
又方∶浮萍 川朴硝 蛤粉 蓝根（等分） 大黄（微炒）
上为末，水调敷脐上。安胎、解烦热，极妙。
It is stated that: abnormal seasonal qi injures the pregnant woman; toxic heat qi invades and damages the fetal sac. Consequently, miscarriage and bleeding occur, endangering both mother and child.
For treating pregnancy complicated by cold damage (Shanghan), with bone and joint pain, high fever, if not treated promptly the fetus may be lost, use Shengma San (Cimicifugae Decoction).
Congbai (Cut, one sheng) Qianhu (Peucedani Radix) Jiagen (Puerariae Radix) Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (each ten fen) Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) (six fen) Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) (eight fen) Zhiziren (Buckwheat Semen) (twelve fen)
Crush the above herbs, add seven sheng of water, decoct to obtain two and a half sheng, remove the dregs, and divide into three doses for warm administration.
For treating pregnancy complicated by epidemic qi (Shiqi), with headache, stiffness of waist and back, high fever, use Qianhu San (Peucedani Decoction).
Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) Qianhu (Peucedani Radix) Zhiziren (Buckwheat Semen) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (each two liang) Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (eight fen) Jiagen (Puerariae Radix) (three liang)
Crush the above herbs, add five sheng of water, decoct to obtain two and a half sheng, remove the dregs, and divide into three doses.
For treating pregnant women at six or seven months of gestation, where cold damage heat enters the abdomen, causing constipation of both large and small bowels, and steaming fever, use Shigao Tang (Gypsum Decoction).
Qianhu (Peucedani Radix) (ten fen) Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (each twenty fen) Zhiziren (Buckwheat Semen) (ten pieces) Zhi mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) Huang qin (Scutellariae Radix) Fuling (Poria) Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) (each eight fen)
Add eight sheng of water, decoct to obtain two and a half sheng; then add Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), boil for three to five boils more, and divide into three doses.
For treating pregnancy complicated by cold damage (Shanghan). With persistent bitter heat, eruption of macules on the body, alternating red and black colors, urine like blood, vital qi nearly exhausted, and fetus about to fall, use Zhiziren Yin (Buckwheat Seed Drink).
Zhiziren (Buckwheat Semen) Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) (each four liang) Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis) (two liang) Shigao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (eight liang) Congbai (Cut, one sheng) Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (three liang) Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Recens) (twenty fen)
Crush the above herbs, add nine sheng of water. Decoct to obtain three sheng, remove the dregs, and divide into three doses. Avoid hot foods.
For treating pregnancy complicated by epidemic qi (Shiqi), with severe body heat, to prevent fetal loss, use Hutai Fang (Fetal Protection Formula).
Fulonggan (Dragon's House Soil) (grind to extreme fineness)
Mix with water and apply to two cun below the umbilicus. Change when dry. Stop when healed. Rice washing water supernatant may also be used.
Another prescription: Apply mud from a well to the epigastrium. Change when dry. (These two prescriptions are from *Ben Shi*, recorded again for efficacy.)
Another prescription: Fuping (Lemnae Herba) Chuan Poxiao (Natrii Sulfas) Gafen (Concha Meretricis) Langen (Isatidis Radix) (equal parts) Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (lightly stir-fried)
Grind the above into powder, mix with water, and apply to the umbilicus. It effectively calms the fetus and relieves vexing heat.
