Li Qian stated: Treats deficiency-cold of the spleen and stomach, loss of appetite, as well as cases where prolonged illness has caused spleen and stomach deficiency, resulting in total inability to eat. Only two doses are needed to restore appetite (from *Su Shen Liang Fang*). In my humble opinion, since this formula contains Chuanwu (Prepared Aconiti Radix), which treats blood-wind attacking the spleen causing anorexia, it surely must have good efficacy.

Women are born receiving the exquisite qi of the Five Elements and nurtured by the spiritual qi of the five zang organs. If yin and yang are harmonious, the zang-fu organs will be strong, and wind pathogens and ghosts cannot harm them. If regulation and care are not maintained properly, leading to deficiency and decline of blood and qi, then wind pathogens will take advantage of the deficiency, and ghost pathogens will interfere with the upright qi. However, the condition of women having sexual intercourse with ghosts is due to deficiency of the zang-fu organs and failure of the spirit to remain within, allowing ghost qi to cause disease. The manifestations include aversion to seeing people, as if encountering errors or illusions, sometimes speaking and laughing alone, or sometimes weeping bitterly. The pulse may be slow and deep, or choppy like a bird pecking, all indicating ghost pathogen disease. Also, a pulse that is continuous and endless without discernible rate, while the complexion remains unchanged, is also this syndrome.
