Pediatric enuresis is caused by deficiency-cold of the Bladder (Bladder), which fails to restrain urine, leading to involuntary urination. The Kidney (Kidney) governs water metabolism and connects downward to the genitalia; urine is the surplus of body fluids. The Bladder (Bladder) is the fu-organ storing body fluids. Due to weakness and internal cold, it cannot control urine, resulting in leakage and lack of restraint, hence termed "enuresis." Another condition is bedwetting, also due to deficiency-cold of the Bladder (Bladder). At night, restraint fails, and urine flows involuntarily during sleep, known as bedwetting. It is suitable to use warming and tonifying medicines for effective results. This condition is common among people of low status; it is not considered a true disease, and medicinal treatment is difficult.

The Kidney (Kidney) governs bone marrow and stores essence; thus, the brain is the sea of marrow and serves as the root of human life. Jie Lu (Split Skull/Open Fontanelle) originates from insufficient congenital endowment and weak Kidney (Kidney) qi, causing the fontanelle to remain open and not close, named Jie Lu. *Baojian* states: If the father's essence is insufficient, the head becomes abnormal and the fontanelle opens; if the mother's qi declines, the body becomes weak and muscles emaciated. The child shows white sclera, is prone to sorrow rather than joy, and suffers from mental fatigue. Children with this symptom often have short lifespans. Warming and tonifying medicines should be used early. There are also two other conditions: Xian Tian (Fontanelle Bulging) and Xian Xian (Fontanelle Depression). Classics state: Upward rushing of cold qi causes hardness and stiffness; upward rushing of heat qi causes swelling. Or, due to vomiting and diarrhea causing Spleen (Spleen) deficiency and sudden collapse of Yuan Qi, the fontanelle depresses. Or, due to internal accumulation of wind pathogen and stagnant heat attacking upward, the fontanelle bulges. Both conditions are ominous signs requiring urgent dispersal of fright, treating according to cold or heat. Do not treat them as minor illnesses, or they will become incurable.
Cold syndrome: Focus on benefiting the Spleen (Spleen), warming the Stomach (Stomach), and dispersing fright. (Formulas selected from the Spleen-Stomach Diarrhea section.)
