Postpartum dysentery with red and white discharge, accompanied by frequent tenesmus, is the most difficult condition to treat. Treatment must avoid damaging the Yuan Qi (Original Qi) while not assisting the pathogenic factors. Only by using Shenghua Tang (Life-Restoring Decoction) with Paojiang (Prepared Ginger) removed, and adding Muxiang (Costus Root) and Fuling (Poria), can both conditions be treated simultaneously without contradiction. Several prescriptions follow for your consideration.

The above several articles on postpartum treatment, although not fully covering all symptoms, have been selected from medical books as pure and effective, tested with immediate results. Published for consultation with colleagues, they may offer some minor benefit. I have treated various pregnancy and postpartum conditions for over twenty years. In cases of extreme danger, I have managed to save seven or eight out of ten. This is all due to appropriate tonification, rather than following secular trends that prioritize treating symptoms and expelling blood stasis. Shou Qiao records this.
