Regarding Wang Shuhe’s Mai Jue (Pulse Classic), I have doubts concerning the Slippery (Hua), Full/Shi, Wiry/Xian, and Tight/Jin pulses. The Slippery and Wiry pulses were briefly discussed earlier, but the Full and Tight pulses remain not fully elucidated. Zhang Zhongjing regarded Floating-Tight pulse as indicating Taiyang Cold Damage (Shang Han), which has been frequently verified in practice. However, regarding the Full pulse, some consider it Heat, while others consider it Cold. I believe the Full pulse should not be described in terms of Cold. I record this here for now, awaiting the judgment of wise scholars.
