The Liver dislikes wind. All cases of tremors and vertigo caused by wind have their root in the Liver. The Heart dislikes heat. All cases of sudden convulsions, sores, ulcers, and blood diseases have their root in the Heart. The Spleen dislikes dampness. All cases of edema and fullness caused by dampness have their root in the Spleen. The Lung dislikes cold. All cases of Qi stagnation and depression have their root in the Lung. The Kidney dislikes dryness. All cases of contraction and pulling caused by cold have their root in the Kidney.

In malaria, if there is stiffness and rigidity of the waist and spine accompanied by convulsions, it is incurable.
If muscles are emaciated, the rectum prolapses, and body heat does not subside, death will ensue.
In Shi Jue (corpse syncope, a state of deep coma) where the body loses sensation and there is a whistling sound in the ears, if sweating occurs and the body temperature becomes warm, it should heal spontaneously. If the lips turn blue and the body is cold, death is certain.
If both interior and exterior are deficient, with cold sweat on the body, slight vomiting, restlessness, cold extremities, and bodily agitation, death will ensue.
If the form is extremely emaciated and unable to take medicine, it indicates the exhaustion of Gu Qi (Grain Qi/Stomach Qi). If one disease ends and another immediately arises, this is due to the mutual overcoming and attacking among the Five Elements; death is certain for such a person.
