In cases of Cold Invasion (Zhong Han) with a tight pulse, both Yin and Yang Qi are in an excess state. According to the method, there should be no sweating; if sweating occurs, it damages life.
Regarding sudden collapse and unconsciousness due to Cold Invasion, first administer half a cup each of hot wine and ginger juice by force-feeding. After slight recovery, administer Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction). (Formula seen later)
Regarding True Yin Syndrome, characterized by cold limbs, abdominal pain like needle pricking, and abdominal distension and urgency, administer Da Fu Zi (Aconite Root), Gan Jiang (Dried Ginger), and Rou Gui (Cinnamon Bark) to strengthen Fire. This is a syndrome of cold in the Middle Jiao, suitable for urgent moxibustion on two points above the navel, one point below the navel, and two points on either side of the navel, seven moxa cones per point, which will be effective immediately.
Regarding extreme cold in the four limbs and whole body, cyanotic lips, cold limbs without a palpable pulse, and retracted scrotum, urgently apply Cong Yi Fa (Scallion Moxibustion/Warming Method) and moxibustion on Shenque (CV 8) and Qihai (CV 6), thirty moxa cones each.

Ingredients: Scallion (finely cut) three sheng, Wheat bran three sheng, Salt two sheng.
Mix evenly with water, divide into two portions, stir-fry until extremely hot, wrap in heavy silk, and apply hot compress to the umbilicus. Replace when cool. When the scallion pack cools, moisten with water and stir-fry until charred, continuing as before until the ingredients disintegrate, then take new scallions and bran. Apply day and night without stopping. If urination and defecation are blocked, this method can also promote their movement.
