Sores are all caused by deficiency and coldness of the Kidney, with wind-pathogenic toxic qi attacking externally from beside the Zusanli (ST36) acupoint and pouring into the side of the Yinjiao (RN7) acupoint. Wind-heat toxic qi flows and accumulates in both feet, causing sores to arise, characterized by swelling, ulceration, pain, and foul odor, making walking difficult. This disease arises in the bone region; because there is little flesh and thin skin above the bone, it is difficult to heal. It may persist for many years without cessation, with wide-open sore openings, rotting skin, exposed muscle, and a terrifyingly foul odor. The treatment method should first involve removing worms, followed by applying medicated plasters. One must sit upright with feet elevated and avoid excessive walking to ensure recovery.
One prescription treats leg sores or conditions such as tinea and scabies.
Four Raw Powders (Sisheng San): Bai Fuzi (Arisaematis Rhizoma Praeparatum), Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Shayuan Jili (Astragali Complanati Semen).
Grind each ingredient into powder in equal proportions. Take three qian per dose. Split open a pig kidney, insert the medicine, wrap it in wet paper, and roast it over fire. Swallow with decoction prepared from Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma). For wind-tinea, take with wine.
Another discussion on sores states they are caused by damp-toxin, and also treats heat sores covering the whole body.
Yellow and White Powder (Huangbai San): Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex, peeled, one liang), Qing Fen (Calomelas, three qian).
Grind into fine powder. Mix with pig bile for topical application. If the area is moist, sprinkle dry powder directly.
Another discussion addresses chronic sores that have ulcerated down to the bone and cause pain. To stop pain and promote tissue regeneration, this divine formula is effective.
Three Fragrant Ointment (Sanxiang Gao): Ru Xiang (Boswelliae Resina, two qian), Song Xiang (Pini Resina, three qian).
Grind into fine powder. Mix with genuine raw sesame oil. Select thin bamboo leaves used for wrapping zongzi, prick them densely with needles, spread the medicine on the leaf, and apply the leaf to the affected area with the medicine centered. Cover with intact bamboo leaves and bind tightly with cloth. This will be effective.
Another prescription uses Song Xiang (Pini Resina) ground into powder, mixed with equal parts of green onion roots, hairs, and leaves, pounded into a cake. Externally, mix Ru Xiang (Boswelliae Resina) powder sparingly onto the cake, place it on the sore opening, and bind with cloth. Change every two days. Cleanse with salt tea water. This is another prescription for sores.
Miduo Seng (Lithargyri), Shi Ru (Gypsum Fibrosum), Tong Qing (Vermiculi Cupri Viridis), Xue Jie (Dragon's Blood).
Grind into powder. Prick holes in oiled paper, brush tung oil onto the paper, sprinkle the medicine on the oil, and apply through the paper. This is effective.
One prescription treats stubborn sores and marginal sores, transmitted by Xu Jingwu.
Di Li Qing (Bitumen), Huang La (Cera Flava), Bai La (Cera Alba), Xiang You (Semen Sesami Indici Oleum, three qian each), Miduo Seng (Lithargyri, five qian, ground).
Place these four ingredients in a coarse bowl and melt over fire. Frequently add Miduo Seng powder while stirring continuously until an ointment forms. Prick holes in oiled paper, apply the medicinal oil, fold the paper back, and apply to the sore with the holes facing downward.
One prescription treats foot sores and chronic sores that do not heal, transmitted by Li Huaiyan from Houshan.
Qing Fen (Calomelas, one qian), Gong Fen (Cerussa, two qian).
Pound together with Su Pan You (Porci Adeps) until smooth. Pour onto oiled paper and apply to the sore. Wrap tightly with cloth. Change once daily. First cleanse with salt tea water, then apply the medicine.
One prescription for treating rotten foot sores. First cleanse with rice washing water. Then cleanse with a strong decoction of Chuan Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) and Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium). Use Huang Dan (Minii Preparatum) in any amount, mix with genuine sesame oil in a tea bowl, and smoke with burning mugwort until it turns yellow. Apply a plaster separated by paper on top. This is miraculous.
