To treat throat ulcers that have not yet ruptured, apply this powder by insufflation; a single cough will cause the ulcer to rupture.
Xiaosha (Saltpeter) [wrapped in several layers of paper and dried over a soot-producing stove to remove salinity, then re-wrapped and dried again, ground into an extremely fine powder] Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) [these two herbs serve as the Sovereign drugs]; Pengsha (Borax) [serving as the Minister drug]; Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) [a small amount, serving as the Assistant drug]; Yazao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina) [a small amount, serving as the Envoy drug].
Grind these five ingredients together into a fine powder and store in a porcelain bottle. For difficult-to-rupture throat ulcers, insufflate this powder to substitute for surgical incision with a knife or needle.
Ruxiang (Frankincense) Moyao (Myrrh) Kufan (Alumen Exsiccatum) Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis) [burned to ash] Zichucan'e (Silkworm emerging from cocoon) Jianzike (Cocoon shell) Xiaozao (Jujube) Renzhijia (Human nail) Bixizike (Spider nest on wall) [burned to ash, one unit each].
Grind into powder and insufflate; immediate effect is achieved.
Zhenqing (Azurite) Baicaoshuang (Soot from kitchen chimney) Dengcaohui (Papyrus pith ash) Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum) Yaxiao (Natrii Nitras) Pengsha (Borax) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) Zhenjin (Gold leaf) Puhuang (Typhae Pollen).
This formula is more effective than the previous one.
Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) Renzhonghuang (Nitrum Humanum) Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) Ercha (Catechu) Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae) Dengxinhei (Lini Semen ash) Zhu Zi (Pearl) Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum).
This is a secret formula for treating mouth canker (Kougan). Regardless of the severity of the condition, insufflation leads to immediate recovery. If the ulceration extends to the root of the nose, it is incurable. If itching occurs, add Feifan (Alumen); if putrefaction is severe, add Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis); if the color is black, add Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis) and Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma); if teeth fall out, add Niuhuang (Calculus Bovis).
