*Shenghui Fang* records: Whenever a child is scalded by boiling water or burned by fire, one must absolutely avoid applying cold objects, mud from the bottom of a well, urine-mud, or honey to cover the wound initially. Because when heat meets cold, it drives the pathogenic factor deeper inward, leading to rotting of the sinews and bones. Therefore, the tendency for sinews to contract after suffering from scalds or burns is indeed due to this reason.
*Qianjin Fang* prescription for treating burn wounds.

*Wushi Jiazhan* records: There are many prescriptions for relieving the pain of pediatric scalds and burns, such as Da Huang (Rhubarb Root) ground with vinegar, all detailed in books. Some claim divine origin but prove ineffective upon use. Having obtained this prescription, I have tested it often with great success. If someone is covered from head to toe by hot oil, applying this immediately results in no injury. Areas missed by the application develop red blisters and erosion that do not heal for a month. This demonstrates how miraculous the coverage of the application is. Scald/Burn Prescription:
Take a broken silver or gold melting pot, scrape off the rust/fire scale. The more scrapings, the better. Upon injury, immediately grind the scrapings with cold water on a stone to extract juice. Apply layer upon layer until redness disappears, then stop. Let it dry naturally the next day; peeling indicates effectiveness.
