Gan disease (chronic malnutrition syndrome) damaging the Spleen and Stomach leads to diarrhea; clearing heat first and tonifying later is the essential principle. Initially, Qingre Hezhong Tang (Clear Heat and Harmonize the Middle Decoction) is suitable, while Shenling Baizhu San (Ginseng, Poria, and Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder) is effective for chronic diarrhea.
[Note] The syndrome of Gan diarrhea (diarrhea associated with Gan disease) often arises from accumulated heat damaging the Spleen, resulting in the failure to separate clear turbid substances, leading to frequent diarrhea. The treatment method should be to clear heat and leach out dampness, primarily using Qingre Hezhong Tang. If the diarrhea persists for a long time without healing, gradual regulation is required, primarily using Shenling Baizhu San.
