Yang Shi stated: This condition is caused by irregular breastfeeding and feeding, which damages the Spleen and Stomach. It may also result from the nursing mother excessively consuming raw, cold, fatty, or greasy foods, excessive injury to the infant, vomiting induced by breastfeeding immediately after meals, or the transformation into "Ru Pi" (Milk Lump) due to excessive milk intake and prolonged sleep, leading to masses in the abdomen and hypochondrium; this is also referred to as "Nai Gan" (Milk Wasting). The external manifestations include a sallow complexion, body heat, a distended abdomen with weak legs, vomiting and regurgitation, chest fullness, fatigue with crying, inability to digest food and fluids, sour-smelling diarrhea, sleeping with the face turned down, reduced appetite, and pica (eating dirt). These constitute the syndrome of Pi Gan (Spleen Wasting). Qian Yi advocated using Yihuang San (Benefit the Yellow Powder). Yang Shi advocated using Lingzhi Wan (Trogopterus Dung Pill), administered together with Yihuang San. Xue Ji advocated using Siwei Fei'er Wan (Four-Ingredient Fattening Infant Pill) to treat Gan diseases, and Wuwei Yigong San (Five-Ingredient Benefit the Work Powder) to tonify the Earth (Spleen).
