The Longnao San (Borneol Powder) from the *Taiping Shenghui Fang* is used to treat nasal obstruction in children, characterized by an inability to distinguish odors.
Longnao (Borneolum Syntheticum, half qian, finely ground) Gualou Ti (Cucumeris Fructus, fourteen pieces) Chixiaodou (Vigna angularis Seed, thirty grains) Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, three large stems, removing rootlets)
Crush the aforementioned herbs, sift them through a fine sieve to make a powder, add Longnao, and grind until uniform. Each night before bed, blow a dose the size of a mung bean into the nose. The emergence of a small amount of clear fluid indicates efficacy.
Zhang Huan's Qingfei Gao (Lung-Clearing Ointment) treats nasal diseases.
Gualou Ti (Cucumeris Fructus, half liang) Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, one piece, processed, skin and umbilicus removed) Chixiaodou (Vigna angularis Seed) Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, each one fen. The above are crushed and sifted into a fine powder)
Mix the aforementioned ingredients, add one qian of Longnao, and grind until uniform. Blend with refined honey to form pills. Wrap in cotton, insert into the nostril, adjusting the size according to the nostril.
Of these two formulas, the former is suitable for patients with heat syndromes; the latter is suitable for patients with cold syndromes.
According to the *Taiping Shenghui Fang*, Lung Qi communicates with the nose. If the Lung organ is injured by wind-cold, the cold follows the Qi upward to the nose, causing fluids and nasal discharge to flow uncontrollably.
Body fluids, nasal discharge, and saliva become dry when heated, and overflow when cooled.
Zhang Huan's Juhua San (Chrysanthemum Powder) treats conditions such as nasal congestion and excessive nasal discharge.
Ganju (Chrysanthemi Flos) Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) Qianhu (Peucedani Radix, each one liang) Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) Guixin (Cinnamomi Ramulus, each half liang) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, one fen)
Crush the aforementioned herbs and sift into a fine powder. Take half a qian per dose, mix with a small amount of ground Ruxiang (Olibanum), and take with decoction of Jingjie (Schizonepetae Herba) after meals.
The Juhua San (Chrysanthemum Powder) from the *Taiping Shenghui Fang* treats conditions where the infant's brain region is injured by wind-cold, resulting in excessive nasal discharge and mental dullness or oppression.

Crush the aforementioned herbs and sift coarsely into a powder. Take one qian per dose, add one small cup of water and a little fresh ginger, decoct until reduced to five parts, remove dregs, and take warm at any time, adjusting the dosage according to the child's age and size.
The Xiong Lao San (Ligustici Wallichii Powder) from the *Wanquan Fang* treats the same syndromes as mentioned above.
