Use aged cured meat, remove the skin, and select the red, fresh-looking, and fatty portions. Finely chop and mince them into a thick paste. Grind ivory powder and human fingernails to an extremely fine consistency, mix them evenly into the meat, and pound thoroughly. Apply this mixture thickly around the arrowhead; the arrowhead will naturally dislodge. Another prescription: extract juice from mole crickets (Loufu) and apply frequently five to seven times, or apply mouse brain instead. A good method is to place lodestone (Cishi) on the wound, and the foreign body will spontaneously exit. Additionally, grind black lice from the head together with human teeth and apply; the foreign body will also be expelled.
(Prepare a cake of mugwort moxa wool, spread finely ground saltpeter (Huoxiao) on top, then layer crushed large dung beetles (Qianglang) over the saltpeter. Wrap the injured area for one day and night, and the foreign body will emerge.)
Grind dung beetle (Qianglang) into powder and apply to the affected area; the foreign body will be expelled. Another prescription: crush castor bean seeds (Bimaren) and apply as a poultice; it is highly effective. Yet another prescription: use ivory shaving powder, mix with water to form a paste, and apply; the foreign body will be expelled (also effective for fish bones embedded in flesh). Chewing and applying Achyranthes root (Niuxi) is also effective. Alternatively, crush ground dogs (Tugou) and apply; both methods are effective.
Pound dried amaranth leaves (Ganxiancai) into a paste, mix with sugar, and apply; the foreign body can be expelled.
If an arrowhead or needle-like object does not exit, or is lodged in the throat, use the brain of a mole cricket (Loufu)—specifically those that call at night on wet ground—pound it into a mud-like consistency, and apply to the site. Within three to five applications, it will be expelled.
Apply aged cured meat including skin and fat to the wound; the foreign body will spontaneously exit. Alternatively, mix ivory shaving powder with water and apply; it will also be expelled (other conditions are the same as for arrowhead injuries). Grinding mole cricket brain together with sulfur powder (Liuhuang) and applying it causes itching when the foreign body is about to be expelled.
Grind olive pits (Ganlanhe) into juice and apply; after a long time, no scar will remain.
For bamboo splinters lodged in the throat, heat a copper coin until red, quench it in wine, and drink the warm liquid; it is naturally effective.
For accidental ingestion of "five metals" (gold, silver, copper, iron, tin), consume half a jin of maltose syrup. For ingested silver, take a bunch of Chinese chives, briefly boil in boiling water without cutting them, and eat them plain. Shortly thereafter, the vegetable will wrap the silver, which can be vomited out or passed through feces. For ingested copper coins, burn sheep tibia bones (Yangjinggu) to ash, grind into powder, and administer three qian with rice water for immediate effect. (For ingested gold, also use sheep tibia bone powder administered with rice water, three qian.) If a coin is stuck in the throat, draw chicken comb blood and introduce it into the throat. Place a copper basin in front, and spray cold water toward the child's face; the coin will be vomited out and fall into the basin. For ingested copper objects, consume more water chestnuts (Biqi, i.e., Zigu) to dissolve them naturally. For ingested iron objects, grind charcoal skin and rust from iron bells into an extremely fine powder, mix with sugar to make pills. One theory states: Shenma (Shengma), 1 fen, ground into powder...
