Apply a mixture of equal parts scallion white (Congbai) and granulated sugar, ground together, to the wound; this prevents scarring. Another prescription: take one qian of Fritillariae Bulbus (Chuanbeimu), removing the heart, and seven apricot seeds (Xingren), removing the skin and tips; chew them together and apply the paste to the affected area, changing once daily. Another prescription: melt one qian of Fish Maw (Yujiao) and apply it to the wound; additionally, administer one qian orally with wine. Both methods can relieve pain and promote healing.
Mash persimmon cakes (Shibing) and apply them to the wound; bleeding will stop and the wound will heal naturally.
Melt one liang of White Beeswax (Baila) and three qian of Primulae Radix et Rhizoma (Tenghuang) in sesame oil (Mayou); apply to the injured area for immediate recovery. This prescription is miraculous for relieving pain, stopping bleeding, and treating burns and scalds.
First, place the corpse in a seated position with legs curled on the ground, resembling a monk in meditation. Have one person pull the hair downward to lower the head. Blow powder of raw Pinelliae Tuber (Sheng Banxia) into the nostrils. If signs of life appear, pour fresh ginger juice (Shengjiang Zhi) into the mouth. Then, burn dried lotus leaves (Heye) to ash, mix three qian of the ash with hot urine (Xiaobian), and administer orally three times a day for spontaneous recovery. For wrist fractures caused by blunt trauma accompanied by blood stasis and pain, crush hemp roots and leaves to extract juice and drink it; if unavailable, boil dry hemp roots and drink the decoction. Alternatively, burn rice stalks to ash, leach the ash with distiller's grains (Jiuzao) to obtain juice, and wash the painful area while warm for immediate effect. Alternatively, steam a mixture of distiller's grains and vinegar residue until warm, and apply as a compress to the affected area for immediate recovery. Alternatively, grind mustard seeds (Jiezi) and ginger (Shengjiang), warm slightly, and apply as a patch to the affected area for immediate effect. For those fainting and lying on the ground, use one qian of preserved goose feather from blood vessels (Xuanguan Emao Cunxing), one qian each of Frankincense (Ruxiang), Myrrh (Moyao), and soot from burning grass (Baicaoshuang). Grind these into powder, mix with aged wine, and administer orally.
(Do not allow many people to gather around or create noise, which may prevent the restoration of the patient's spirit.)
For severe injuries involving bleeding from the mouth and ears and sudden fainting: (if the complexion still shows vitality and the body remains soft, rescue is possible.) Immediately have relatives support the patient and call out, stimulating the hands. Use crushed Hawthorn Fruit (Shanzha), doubling the quantity for severe cases. Boil two large bowls of fast-flowing water until the essence penetrates, and administer hot using a small cup. If the patient cannot tolerate it, wait a moment and administer again. Do not let the qi escape, or rescue will fail. Wait until there is movement and sound in the abdomen, moving up and down several times, indicating half the toxin has been resolved, before allowing the patient to sleep. Administer two or three more doses of the previous prescription. For sudden falls, crushing injuries, or apparent death due to "ghost oppression" (fainting/syncope), if the flesh is not yet cold, immediately administer Suhexiang Wan (Succinum Pill) mixed with wine into the mouth. If the medicine goes down, life can be saved; alternatively, drinking hot child's urine (Tongbian) first is also effective.
