Exudative sores with abundant discharge originate from the Heart; if not treated early and spreading to the whole body, they can be fatal. Cook *Sorghum* (also known as glutinous rice) until yellowish-black, pound into powder, and apply externally. (Ibid.)
Initially resembling [missing character], it gradually becomes like water blisters, feeling as if burned, with red sores; it progresses rapidly and can be fatal. Crush *Brassica rapa var. trilocularis* leaves to extract juice, mix with equal parts of *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma*, *Natrii Sulfas*, and *Ferrum Oxydatum Rubrum* (iron rust), and apply to the affected area. (*Jin Xiao Fang*)
In some cases, a sore protrudes several inches long, resembling a snake's tail; applying sulfur powder causes it to disappear. (*Qi Ji Fang*)
Tissue protrudes like grains of rice, with deep roots and thick suppuration. Boil three catties of willow branches and leaves in seven sheng of water until five sheng remain, concentrate into a decoction, and apply three times daily. (*Tong Shou Lu*)
Another method: crush *Polygonum aviculare* to extract juice and wipe the area. Or grind into powder, mix with pig liver, and apply; this is highly effective. (*Yi Lin Zheng Zong*)
Another method: burn one catty of *Portulaca oleracea* to ash, grind into powder, and mix with lard for external application. (*Ben Cao Gang Mu*)
The shape resembles a cord or thread, varying in thickness; if it extends upward to the heart, death ensues. The treatment involves stopping the spread at the head of the sore by pricking to bleed, then chewing *Spirodela polyrrhiza* (duckweed) and applying it; recovery follows. (*Mi Fang Ji Yan*)
These sores resemble beads, starting in the scalp, spreading through contagion, and sometimes causing death. Mash fresh radishes, soak them in dripping vinegar, and apply to the lesion; it heals. (Ibid.)
Crush *Nymphoides peltata* leaves, wrap in cotton, and insert into the lower part (vagina) three times daily. (*Fan Wang Fang*)
The sores are high above and deep below, hanging in clusters like blind eyes, with a bluish tint inside. Each head exposes a tongue-like toxic pore, indicating that the toxin has penetrated inward. Burn fresh pond frog skin until carbonized but retaining its nature, grind into powder, mix with honey water, and apply. (*Zhi Zhi Fang*)
Take four bitter gourds (*Lagenaria siceraria*) about the size of a cup, each pierced with a hole the size of a finger. Boil in hot water for more than ten boils. Take a bamboo tube one chi long, insert one end into the gourd's hole, and place the other end over the sore's opening. Replace when cool; continue until finished. (*Qian Jin Yi Fang*)
Rinse mouth with vinegar. Burn eggplant root/stem base to ash, mix with equal parts of refined salt, dilute with rice vinegar, and wipe frequently. (*Ye Shi Zhai Xuan*)
On both sides of the chest, red and white scrofulous blisters appear, spreading, painful, and itchy. Each grows into a vertical line, with more than ten connected in a row, named "Curtain Beads Hanging Down" (Lian Zhu Dao Gua). If prolonged, it is fatal and resistant to most medicines. Use knife-grass (thatch) hung under eaves on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, take down including roots and leaves, chop finely, grind into powder, mix with sesame oil, and apply. Five or six applications lead to cure; repeatedly tested and effective. (*Ji Shi Bian Yi Ji*)
