Knife wounds must absolutely not come into contact with water. Apply powder of Tushu stone (Book Stone) or Talcum Powder (Huashi). Alternatively, scrape powder from bluestone and apply it. Or stir-fry Rhizoma Curcumae Longae (Dahuang) until charred black, sift into fine powder, and apply. Or mix juice of Chinese Chive (Jiucai) with aged lime, dry in shade, and apply. Or use equal parts of solid fine charcoal and old Pine Resin (Songxiang), grind, sift into fine powder, mix with Chinese Chive juice, dry in shade, sift again, grind into fine powder, and apply. If urgent use is needed, Chinese Chive juice may be omitted. (From *Danfang Zong*)
Unstoppable bleeding from knife wounds: Take four taels of Pomegranate Flower (Shiliuhua) and half a sheng of Calcined Iron Ore (Duanshi), grind into fine powder, apply to the wound for immediate recovery; this is highly effective. (From *Haishang Fang*)
Another prescription: Mash fresh Perilla Leaves (Zisuye) and Mulberry Leaves (Sangye) together and apply as a poultice. (From *Yonglei Qianfang*)
Another prescription: Scrape down high-quality Xiangxiang (Jiangxiang, Aquilaria Agallocha Wood) using the edge of porcelain or tile, grind finely in a stone mill, and apply to stop bleeding immediately without leaving scars. (From *Yansheng Yishu*)
Persistent pain from knife wounds: Select high-quality Chicken Bone Char (Jigu Tan) that makes a clear sound when thrown on the ground, and mix with equal parts of transparent Pine Resin (Songxiang). Grind extremely finely. Mix with juice from old Chinese Chives, dry in shade, and repeat grinding and mixing three to four times to make a fine powder. Store properly. Prepare this on auspicious days such as Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu) or Qixi Festival. Apply to the affected area; pain stops immediately, and normal condition returns. Strictly avoid drinking cold water. (From *Qifang Leibian*)
Cuts from knives or axes: Mix one tael of Xiangxiang (Jiangxiang, Aquilaria Agallocha Wood) ground into ultra-fine powder with three qian of White Beeswax (Baila) ground into fine powder. Apply evenly to cover the wound completely. Bind tightly with a silk cloth. Avoid water exposure and wind. Full recovery occurs within three weeks. (From *Guangshan Pian Yifang*)
Injuries from knife cuts, axe chops, spear thrusts, or shears: Grind Raw Pinellia Rhizome (Banxia) into fine powder. Apply while blood is present on the wound; pain stops immediately, and tissue regeneration is promoted. (From *Qian Qinglun Fang*)
Another prescription: Grind large single-shell chestnuts and apply, or chew them hastily and apply. (From *Jixiao Fang*)
Knife or axe wounds: Stir-fry Mung Bean Powder (Lvdou Fen) in a new iron wok until purple. Mix with freshly drawn well water, apply to the wound, cover with paper, and secure with fir wood splints for immediate effect. (From *Tongshou*)
Another prescription: Burn Mung Bean Powder with tea leaves to ash, or use dried tea leaf powder; both are effective when applied. (Same source)
Knife and arrow wounds: Mix one tael each of Calamine (Dingfen) and Weathered Calcined Iron Ore (Fenghua Duanshi), two qian of Alum (Kubaifan), and five fen each of Frankincense (Ruxiang) and Myrrh (Moyao). Grind each of these five ingredients separately, then mix the powders uniformly and grind again. Apply dry powder to stop bleeding and relieve pain. (From *Jingxiuzhai Fang*)
Severe trauma with unstoppable bleeding: Chew Juncus Stalk (Dengxin) and cover the wound to stop bleeding. (Same source)
Fatal injuries from metal blades: Take two to cun of solid charcoal strips, burn until red hot, place in an iron vessel or stone mortar. Add two to three liang of Brown Sugar (Hongtang). Pound for one thousand strokes until paste-like. For any fatal severe injury where life remains, urgently apply this medicine to the wound. Wrap with silk or cloth. Recovery occurs in seven days. For injuries where metal penetrates membranes, severed fingers, broken limbs, or continuous bleeding, apply this medicine first. Then paste the inner white layer of gourd flesh over it to stop bleeding. Avoid raw/cold foods, but no restriction on "fa wu" (stimulating foods). The quantities of charcoal and sugar can vary based on injury severity. (From *Taopucun Fang*)
Metal wounds with internal rotting and maggots: Use Sulfated Ferrous Sulfate (Zaofan) processed by sublimation into powder. Apply dry powder; maggots will die. (From *Yanqing Saiyan Fang*)

Protruding intestines from metal wounds: Soak three sheng of Glutinous Rice (Nuomi) in cold water starting forty-nine days before Dragon Boat Festival. Change water twice daily, gently rinsing without crushing grains. On Dragon Boat Festival day, remove and dry in shade. Store in a silk bag in a ventilated place. When needed, roast black, grind to powder, mix with cold water to form a paste. Apply to cover the wound size, wrap firmly with cloth, and keep immobile until healed. (From *Lingyuan Fang*)
Another prescription: Boil five sheng of Wheat (Xiaomai) in nine sheng of water until reduced to four sheng. Strain through cotton cloth to obtain clear juice. Let it cool completely. Have the patient lie on a mat. One person holds the juice in their mouth and sprays it onto the patient's back; the intestines will gradually retract. Do not let the patient know, and avoid conversation by bystanders. If retraction does not occur, gently shake the four corners of the mat; the intestines will self-retract. Once retracted, suture tightly using oil-moistened thread. Bind with silk. Avoid agitation to prevent wound dehiscence. (From *Liu Juanzi Guiyi Fang*)
Hu Jitang stated: When suturing, use fine thread for skin only. Do not use coarse needles and thick threads to stitch healthy flesh, as this hinders natural healing and causes prolonged retention of sutures. Otherwise, healthy tissue is damaged, worsening the condition. (From *Hu Sikou Jijiu Fang*)
Metal wounds with severed tendons, exhausted pulses, blood loss leading to death: Mix three taels of Trichosanthes Root (Tianhuafen), two taels of Red Peony Root (Chishao), and one tael each of Turmeric (Jianghuang) and Angelica Dahurica (Baizhi) into powder. First, tie off the bleeding vessel with rope or silk band. Then, mix powder with tea infusion for topical application. Bind with soft silk. Bleeding stops immediately, and swelling subsides frequently. If the wound gets wet or suppurates, apply juice of Wild Garlic (Xie) to both sides of the wound, lightly moxa with fire, or smoke with rice straw. Healing occurs when fluid drains. (From *Mifang Sui*)

Xuyusan (Hair Ash Powder): Take several jin of black hair (preferably from young, strong individuals at barbershops). Wash to remove grease, filter dry. Insert bamboo segments into fresh large bamboo stalks, pack hair tightly, seal with wooden plug and yellow mud. Smolder in mild fire ashes overnight. Open to find hair turned to ash. Store in porcelain. Apply to knife wounds for immediate healing; efficacy is miraculous. (Same source)
