Treats heatstroke, sha syndrome (a condition caused by summerheat and dampness), cholera, dysentery, and other symptoms, with miraculous efficacy.
Chuanlian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 2 liang 4 qian), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, 2 liang 1 qian, stir-fried with wine), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, 1 liang 2 qian), Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma, processed with vinegar), Sharen (Amomi Fructus), Dingxiang (Caryophylli Flos), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Baidoukou (Amomi Fructus Rotundus), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus).
Grind all the above herbs into a fine powder. Use juice extracted from fresh lotus leaves (Nelumbinis Nelumbo), or decoction from dried lotus leaves is also acceptable. Use this liquid to make a flour paste, then form pills. Each batch yields one hundred pills. One pill is sufficient for two persons.
On hot earth in the streets, mix evenly with tongbian (children's urine) and administer orally; the patient will regain consciousness immediately. Alternatively, drinking "dijiangshui" (earth slurry water) can also cure the condition. (The method is to dig a pit, fill it with clear water, and stir; this constitutes dijiangshui). Additionally, the following prescription may be used:
Xiangru (Elsholtziae Herba, 3 liang), Boheye (Menthae Haplocalycis Folium, 2 liang), Pengsha (Borax), Shishuang (Diospyros Frost), Fen Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparatum, 1 liang), Wumeirou (Mume Fructus Pulpa, 2 liang), Huoxiang (Pogostemonis Herba).
Grind all the above herbs into a fine powder. Form pills using white sugar and white honey. Each pill weighs one qian. Hold in the mouth to dissolve slowly or swallow with cold water.
Qinghao (Artemisiae Annuae Herba, 5 qian), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, each 3 qian), Xiangru (Elsholtziae Herba, 1 qian), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, 1 qian), Gange (Puerariae Radix, 1 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 5 fen).
Decoct in water and take orally. After one dose, qi circulation is restored; after two doses, heat dissipates.
Another prescription:
Xiangru (Elsholtziae Herba, 2 qian), Fuling (Poria, 2 qian), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 7 fen), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 7 fen), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 5 qian), Baibiandou (Dolichoris Semen, 2 qian), Baidoukou (Amomi Fructus Rotundus, 1 grain).
Decoct in water and take orally. Recovery occurs after one dose.
Take a handful of Baixiaomao Gen (Imperatae Rhizoma), decoct in water, and take orally.
Another prescription:
Baicaoshuang (Fuligo Silicea, 5 qian), Huaihuami (Sophorae Flavescentis Flos, 2 liang). Take 2 qian per dose, administered with Baixiaomao Gen decoction.
Baicaoshuang refers to the soot collected from household cooking pots. It is preferable if sourced from rural areas where people burn various weeds, especially those living near mountain forests. It stops all types of hematemesis (vomiting blood) and epistaxis (nosebleed). Use the red portion.
Another prescription:
Take five sheets of thin white paper, burn them to ash, and take with water. The efficacy is indescribable. This prescription is extremely unique.
Another prescription:
Treats all bleeding conditions from top to bottom. Whether it is hematemesis, xinnue (bleeding from the heart/chest area), neibeng (internal rupture bleeding), bleeding from the tongue like pinholes, epistaxis, or hematochezia (blood in stool), use this universally. Burn the hair (or miscellaneous burnt materials implied by context, though text says "luanfa" which usually means mixed hair/wool, but here likely refers to the previous context or generic burnt substance, however strictly "luanfa" is mixed hair/fur) to ash, take 2 qian with water, three times a day. *Note: The source text says "乱发" (mixed hair/fur), commonly known as Sangpiao Xiao or similar burnt hair preparations in TCM, often used for stopping bleeding.*
Another prescription:
Extract one cup of juice from chopped Chinese chives (Allium tuberosum), add half a cup of tongbian (children's urine), heat until warm, and take in one gulp. Bleeding stops immediately after one or two doses.
