[Li Dongyuan] Treats abdominal fullness (Zhongman), cold-type distension, cold hernia (pain or dragging sensation in the lower abdomen and testicles caused by cold pathogen), obstruction of urination and defecation, and cold extremities. Food is vomited out after ingestion, coldness in the abdomen, emptiness in the epigastrium accompanied by Yin restlessness (irritability due to floating deficient Yang), and uncontrolled onset of Ben Tun Qi (a condition characterized by a sensation of gas rushing up from the lower abdomen). [This occurs often due to excessive consumption of raw and cold foods, or in individuals with long-standing Spleen and Stomach deficiency. Cold in the Stomach leads to distension; or fullness arises from internal organ cold. This decoction is indicated.]

Chuanwu (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), Bidengqie (Schaefferiae Fructus), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix) (each 2 qian), Caodoukou (Amomi Fructus Rotundus).

Administration: [The original text here lacks specific decoction and administration instructions, listing only herb names.]

Formula Analysis: Chuanwu combined with two types of ginger (Ganjiang, Shengjiang), Wuzhuyu (Evodiae Fructus) and Dengqie, Yizhi (Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus) and Caodoukou, can dispel dampness, open stagnation, warm the Stomach and Kidney, thereby eliminating cold. Qingpi and Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) are used to dissipate fullness. Danggui... [Text fragment] drains dampness from within. The principle is that when the Spleen and Stomach are diseased, dampness should be dispersed from both upper and lower aspects. The Lower Jiao is like a drainage ditch, allowing Qi and Blood to differentiate naturally. If the condition involves extreme excess and fullness with obstruction of urination and defecation, as a temporary measure, cold and hot herbs may be used to purge.)

Treats vomiting due to Middle Jiao cold, acid regurgitation, diarrhea, and anorexia. Also treats conditions such as vomiting and nausea due to visceral cold in women, and fetal unrest.
