(Zhu Danxi) Treats "Zhuanbao" (twisted bladder) during pregnancy. ("Zhuanbao" refers to the fetus pressing against the bladder, displacing it to one side, causing the bladder ligaments to twist and kink. Symptoms include urgent pain below the umbilicus, frequent urination or urinary retention. This is caused by deficiency of Qi and Blood, and stagnation of phlegm-fluid.)
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shudihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata), Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium - retain only the white pith), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma Preparatum), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparata). Add fresh ginger (Shengjiang, Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) and decoct. Take on an empty stomach.
For Qi deficiency, tonify with Sijunzi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction); for Blood deficiency, tonify with Siwu Tang (Four Substance Decoction); for phlegm-fluid, resolve with Erchen Tang (Two Aged Decoction). This allows Qi to ascend and lift, thereby unblocking the bladder naturally. (Zhu Danxi stated: Another method for treating Zhuanbao is to invert the pregnant woman vertically; once the fetus shifts position, urination will flow freely.)
(Zhang Yuansu/Haizang) Treats pregnancy complicated by Shanghan (cold damage), presenting with headache, fever, absence of sweating, and a tight pulse, indicating a disease of the Taiyang (Greater Yang) channel.
Siwu Tang (each ingredient 1 liang), Mahuang (Ephedrae Herba), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma) (5 qian).
Generally, for women suffering from Shanghan, the treatment principles for the Six Channels are the same. However, if the patient is pregnant, the primary focus must be on calming the fetus. Any herbs that may harm the fetus should not be used.
Zhang Yuansu (Haizang) also proposed a method for treating exterior deficiency: Siwu Tang 4 liang, plus Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) and Digupi (Lycii Cortex) each 7 qian, named Biaoxu Liuhe Tang (Exterior Deficiency Six-Harmony Decoction). It treats pregnancy complicated by Shanghan with exterior deficiency and spontaneous sweating. (Digupi cools the blood; combined with other ingredients such as Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma) 5 qian and Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini) to treat wind-dampness and limb discomfort.)
(Jin Gui Yao Lue / Essential Prescriptions from the Golden Cabinet) There are prescriptions suitable for regular use during pregnancy. (For women with scanty blood and internal heat, restless fetus, and those prone to habitual abortion or difficult labor, this formula is appropriate. If the fetus is healthy and free from distress, delivery will be easy; it also serves as a primary treatment for various postpartum ailments.)
Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) (1 jin), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma) (0.5 jin). Grind into fine powder. Mix with wine and take. Twice daily.
When the Chong (Penetrating Vessel) and Ren (Conception Vessel) are abundant in blood, they can nourish the fetus and ensure fetal stability. Danggui, Xiong, and Shaoyao nourish Blood and benefit the Chong and Ren vessels. Furthermore, during pregnancy, it is advisable to clear heat and cool the blood so that blood does not move recklessly, thereby... [text incomplete]
