(Yan Shi) Treats malaria that persists for a long time without resolution, with masses forming in the abdomen, named "Mamo" (Malarial Mother). (Persistent malaria is called Mamo; it often forms masses under the left hypochondrium, named Mamo, which is an accumulation of the Liver. Malaria belongs to the Shaoyang Gallbladder meridian; the Gallbladder and Liver are interior-exteriorly related, so Biejia (Carapax et Plastrum Testudinis) is used as the sovereign drug, with assistant and envoy drugs added according to the deficiency or excess of the syndrome.)

Chuanxiong (Radix Ligustici Chuanxiong) tonifies the Liver and moves Qi in the Blood... [text incomplete]).

Strengthens the Spleen, opens the stomach, eliminates food stagnation, stops diarrhea, harmonizes the Zang-Fu organs, and nourishes Ying and Wei. (Zhang Sanxi said: When I first met Miao Zhongchun, I saw him chewing pill-sized balls from his sleeve. When asked, he said this was a secret transmission: taking it when hungry makes one feel full, and taking it after eating makes one feel hungry again. I copied the formula. After a heavy meal, I took two pills and lay down to sleep. Upon waking early, I felt no stagnation at all, and then believed in the miraculous digestive power of this formula.)
It is also effective in treating morning sickness during pregnancy.
Baizhu (Radix Atractylodis Macrocephalae, soaked in rice wash water, mixed with mountain yellow earth, steamed nine times and sun-dried nine times, earth removed, sliced and baked dry), Renshen (Radix Ginseng, soaked in human milk, steamed on a rice cooker until cooked), Chenpi (Exocarpium Citri Reticulatae, peeled, mixed with human milk, 2 qian), Jiegeng (Radix Platycodonis, soaked in rice wash water and stir-fried), Shenqu (Massa Medicata Fermentata, lightly stir-fried), Zexie (Rhizoma Alismatis) (2.5 qian).
