鸡子清,调大黄末涂之,炒黄柏末亦可。一法以冷烧酒浇淋,甚妙。

Apply chicken egg white (Jizi Qing) mixed with powdered Rhizoma et Radix Imperatoris (Dahuang, 大黄) to the affected area; powdered Fructus Phellodendri (Huangbai, 黄柏) that has been stir-fried is also acceptable. Another method involves pouring cold distilled liquor over the area, which is very effective.
Apply powder of Cutula Sepiae (Haipiaoxiao, 海螵蛸); bleeding stops immediately. Powder from forged stone found in ancient wells may also be used. For traumatic wounds (Jinchuang, 金疮) with unceasing bleeding, use the original silkworm moth (Yuancan'e, 原蚕蛾), stir-fried and powdered.
For fish bones lodged in the throat, eating olives will cause them to pass down. If fresh olives are unavailable, grind olive seeds with water and drink. (Oliver wood is used for making oars; fish die upon touching it, demonstrating a mutual aversion among substances.) Cat saliva can also help dislodge fish bones. For chicken bones lodged in the throat, mash wild ramie root (Yezhu, 野苎) into a paste the size of a longan fruit, and swallow with water. For fish bones, swallow with fish broth. For various bone lodgments, restrain one hind leg of a dog to collect its saliva, and swallow slowly. Alternatively, dissolve Borax (Pengsha, 硼砂) well spring water and drink, or decoct Radix Saposhnikoviae (Weilingxian, 威灵仙) with vinegar and swallow. (Sugar may be added. Methods for treating choking can be extrapolated: for example, cormorant and otter palms treat fish bones; magnetite treats needle lodgments; hair ash treats hair lodgments; tiger and dog bones treat bone lodgments, each utilizing the principle of treating like with like.)
However, consuming excessive fatty meat will allow [the object] to pass naturally with stool. Those who have swallowed needles should eat boiled broad beans with Chinese chive; the needle will pass naturally with the stool.
[For those] pierced and bleeding, eating water chestnut (Biqi, 荸荠) and Zizania latifolia (Cigu, 茨菰) will resolve the issue.
Take ash made from burning tangled human hair, mix with warm water, and take 1 qian.
While the patient is intoxicated and sleeping, blow powder of Caulis Trichosanthis (Zaojiao, 皂角) into the nasal cavity; once sneezing occurs thoroughly, the wound will close naturally.
Stimulate the nasal cavity with a paper wick; stopping occurs once sneezing happens.
Apply raw powder of Spora Lygodii (Sheng Puhuang, 生蒲黄). (Alternatively, add powdered Rhizoma Zingiberis (Ganjiang, 干姜).)
Dan Ru'e (Dan Ru'e, 丹乳蛾 - a type of severe sore throat preventing swallowing): First, puncture the lesion with Saponaria officinalis powder (Zaojiao, 皂角), then take juice of Achyranthes bidentata (Du Niuxi, 杜牛膝), mix with vinegar, gargle, and swallow. Another method: crush Folium Artemisiae Argyi (Aiye, 艾叶) and hold in the mouth for a long time; swelling will subside. (In winter, when leaves are unavailable, dig up the root.) For throat closure (Houbi, 喉闭), take juice of Radix Sophorae Tonkinensis (Shandougen, 山豆根), gargle, and swallow to open the throat. If medication cannot enter, quickly grasp both arms of the patient, rub dozens of times to gather blood in the thumbs, tie the thumb tightly with hair rope, prick the nail bed edge to bleed (the nail bed edge corresponds to Shaoshang Jingqu, 少商井穴), similar to bloodletting therapy (Fangsha, 放痧). Do this on both hands; the throat will then relax.
