(Attached: Hiccups, Fanwei [Reversal Stomach], Yige [Dysphagia])
[Food Injury to Spleen and Stomach] Consuming old roasted meat bones, or using white wine and yeast (preserving their nature). Take with rock sugar; all are effective.
[Strong Stomach and Weak Spleen] Inability to transport and transform food, distension and fullness in the chest and diaphragm. Take Tribulus Terrestris Fructus (Bai Jili, 白蒺藜) (remove spines, stir-fry until yellow, take ten taels of pure powder), make pills using water-pellet method. Take two qian per dose, swallow with plain warm water on an empty stomach. If food stagnation is severe, add Hawthorn Fruit (Shan Zha, 山楂) (steam over rice three times, dry, grind into four taels of powder). If vomiting with acid regurgitation, bitter taste, oral ulcers, and phlegm occur, add Atractylodes Rhizome (Cang Zhu, 苍术) (remove rhizome base, soak and wash in rice bran water, scrape off black skin, slice, dry, stir-fry until yellow, take ten taels of finest powder) and Coptis Rhizome (Chuan Lian Lian, 川黄连) (stir-fry with wine, take two taels of pure powder), make honey pills, swallow with plain warm water. For elderly individuals with blood depletion, use with discretion (as Cang Zhu may be too drying and damage blood).
[Epigastric Discomfort with Clear Saliva Vomiting] Grind Tangerine Peel (Guang Ju Hong, 广橘红) into powder. At the fifth watch (5-7 AM), sit up in bed, place five fen of powder in the palm of the hand (left for men, right for women), lick it dry and swallow. Do not lie down after taking. Three to four doses will cure.
[Constant Eating and Easy Hunger] Mung Bean (Lu Dou, 绿豆), Glutinous Rice (Nuo Mi, 糯米), Yellow Wheat (Huang Mai, 黄麦) (one sheng each, stir-fried until cooked). Grind together into powder. Take one wine cup per dose, mix with boiling water and take. Effective within three to five days.
[Chest and Diaphragm Fullness with Edema] Atractylodes Rhizome (Cang Zhu, 苍术) (processed as above, four taels of powder), Citrus Peel (Chen Pi, 陈皮), Magnolia Bark (Hou Po, 浓朴) (five fen each), Sichuan Pepper (Chuan Jiao, 川椒) (a small amount). Take one pig stomach, remove fat and clean, fill with garlic cloves, sew shut with thread. Use seven bowls of cold water and seven bowls of hot water. Bring to a boil, insert the stomach, and cook until the water is dry. Remove the stomach, mash until no fibers remain, mix with the aforementioned powders to make pills. Take two qian with boiling water on an empty stomach daily; this yields the fastest results.
[Hiccups] Caused by cold: use Galangal Rhizome (Liang Jiang, 良姜) (one qian five fen), Clove (Ding Xiang, 丁香) (one qian), Persimmon Calyx (Shi Di, 柿蒂) (two qian), Licorice Root (Gan Cao, 甘草) (roasted, five fen). Decoct in water and take. Drinking decoction of Shi Di alone also stops hiccups. If chronic and persistent, with forty to fifty consecutive hiccups, take one cup of Ginger Juice (Sheng Jiang Zhi, 生姜汁), add one or two spoons of honey, take warm to stop immediately. Ignite paper to stimulate the nose; sneezing stops it. If all medicines fail, use Sulfur (Liu Huang, 硫黄) and Frankincense (Ru Xiang, 乳香) in equal parts, decoct in wine, and let the patient inhale the vapor to stop it. (Or use only Realgar (Xiong Huang, 雄黄) decocted in wine, inhale to stop.)
[Moxibustion for Hiccups] For women, the points are wherever the nipple hangs down; for men, about one finger's breadth below the nipple. The point is located at the arterial pulse between the ribs. Left side for men, right side for women. Moxa cone size like a wheat grain; stop immediately upon ignition. If three moxa cones do not work, it is incurable. This method is most miraculous.
[Yige and Fanwei] Anyone who eats in the morning and vomits in the evening, or eats in the evening and vomits in the morning, or vomits immediately after eating, is called Fanwei (Reversal Stomach). Food gets stuck in the diaphragm, unable to swallow, is called Yige (Dysphagia). The names differ, but the symptoms are essentially the same. Fanwei invariably originates from Yige. This condition is difficult to treat in the elderly and those with depleted Qi and Blood. Only cases caused by long-standing Phlegm-Fire stagnation and epigastric obstruction can be gradually treated.
[Stomach Heat with Vomiting and Dysphagia] Reeds Rhizome (Lu Gen, 芦根) five taels, cut into pieces, decoct in water and take on an empty stomach to stop. For any dysphagia case, use Glutinous Rice Flour, mix with Ox Saliva to make small pills, cook and eat for effect. Or take two spoons of Ox Saliva mixed with water; lifelong dysphagia will not recur. (Clean an old ox's mouth with water, apply salt, wrap the mouth with Lotus Leaf, causing saliva to flow when the ox is tired from plowing.)
[Qi Obstruction Preventing Drinking] Loquat Leaf (Pi Pa Ye, 枇杷叶) (remove hairs, honey-roasted, five qian), Citrus Peel (Chen Pi, 陈皮) (remove white pith, one qian half), Ginger (three slices). Decoct in water, divide into two doses. Also treats sudden vomiting.
[Fanwei] Reeds Rhizome (Lu Gen, 芦根), Imperata Rhizome (Mao Gen, 茅根) (two taels each). Decoct in water and take. (When using Lu Gen, select those not exposed floating outside.) For early-stage Fanwei vomiting food, use Huang Xiang Yuan (Yellow Fragrant Orange) from trees, soak in manure for seven days, then soak in Child's Urine (Tong Bian, 童便) for seven days, wash with water, air-dry, and drink the decoction. Dried Persimmon Cake (Gan Shi Bing, 干柿饼), three pieces per dose, mash with stem intact, take with wine; very effective. One bowl of Sugarcane Juice (Gan Zhe Zhi, 甘蔗汁), add half a zhong of Ginger Juice, mix well, divide into two doses; three doses show effect. (Sugarcane Juice also treats dry heaving from alcohol toxicity.) Large Crucian Carp (Da Ji Yu, 大鲫鱼) (one dead fish naturally; live ones are ineffective). Gut without removing scales, fill between scales and bones with peeled, thinly sliced Garlic Bulbs (Da Suan Tou, 大蒜头). Use Pingwei San (Stomach-Pacifying Powder) (Magnolia Bark stir-fried with Ginger, one qian; Citrus Peel, one qian; Atractylodes soaked in rice bran water, one qian; Licorice, six fen, all ground to powder). Pound into pills the size of Toona seeds, dry and store, preventing gas leakage. Take thirty pills with rice soup on an empty stomach. If ineffective after a long time, use Leek Juice (Jiu Zhi, 韭汁) (two taels), Cow Milk (Niu Ru, 牛乳) (one zhan), Ginger Juice (five qen taken), Bamboo Sap (Zhu Li, 竹沥) (half a zhan), Child's Urine (one zhan). Mix evenly and take warm for effect. Once treated a patient who vomited everything eaten after one or two days, sour smell, emaciated with muscles gone, skin dry like sheep dung, all medicines failed. Used Qianjin Fang (Prescription from Thousand Gold): Pig Subcutaneous Fat (Zhu Ban You, 猪板油) (ten taels, boiled clean, dregs removed), White Honey (Bai Mi, 白蜜) (eight taels, refined). Boil these two again in a copper pot for several boils, add three liang of fresh Ginger Juice, mix evenly, cool to form ointment. Hold in mouth and dissolve occasionally. Initially, one dose still resulted in one vomit; after three continuous doses, fully cured. (Originally a divine prescription by Sun Simiao for obstruction.) Long-term vomiting leading to dryness has been cured by consuming human milk and bird's nest.
[Cold Saliva Fanwei] Onset begins with vomiting cold saliva, then food. Often caused by labor/fatigue. Use Rhubarb (Da Huang, 大黄) (one tael, half tea cup of fresh Ginger Juice. Roast Rhubarb until dry, soak in Ginger Juice, roast again, soak again, until juice is exhausted). Cut, bake, and grind to powder. Take two qian per dose... [Text cuts off here].
[Yige (Dysphagia)] Ma Zi Jian (Horse Egg Alkali?) (calcined through, four taels). Grind fine, take with honey-water mixture.
[Qi Obstruction] Agarwood (Chen Xiang, 沉香) (one qian, ground to juice). Swallow slowly with plain warm water. For chronic Yige/Fanwei with blood depletion, hard stool like sheep dung, crab-bubble sputum, or age over fifty, do not use harsh purgatives.
