Danggui Wan for treating infantile food stagnation, intestinal distension, and food injury, provided by Physician Ding of Chuzhou. Select Yuanhua (Flos Genkwa) before it blooms, harvest it promptly, dry it in the sun, remove branches and stems. Soak the herbs in light rice vinegar or sugar vinegar, with the vinegar level one finger-width above the herbs. Leave overnight, then take out and stir continuously until the vinegar flow stops. Cover with a bowl, wait for it to cool, pour out, bake dry, and grind into a fine powder. Then use the vinegar used to soak the herbs to make a hard paste for forming pills, sized like millet. Re-administer after about an hour. The internal organs will definitely react; stop after one or two bowel movements. It works very quickly without causing harm. If one wishes to rapidly eliminate Spleen and Stomach stagnation, administer with sugar water or Perilla decoction. The vinegar used for making the paste must be clarified; if insufficient, adding other vinegars is acceptable. Additionally, make larger pills sized like mung beans to treat adults injured by alcohol and food. Adjust the number of pills according to the condition, administering based on deficiency or excess. Physician Guo of Luzhou stated: Yuanhua, Haizao, Gansui, and Daji all counteract Gancao. After taking this medicine, avoid other medicines for one day. Once the internal organs have moved, nourish with white porridge.
