Nigu Ji. Heat with fire until dry. First add twenty pieces of gold foil, then add sand powder. Grind these four ingredients together into a fine powder. Press firmly to flatten. Then add another twenty pieces of gold foil, followed by tsengqing (azurite). Grind these five ingredients together into a fine powder. Press firmly again to flatten. Then add nine more pieces of gold foil. Begin using the lid, sealing it with Liuyi Ni (Six-One Mud), but leave a one-cun gap in the lid unsealed. Apply fire method, and repeat pounding and sieving to remove "fire toxicity," as well as repeating the grinding process. These steps are identical to those for the previous Datong Shuiyin Wan (Great Flow Mercury Pill). Use a strong decoction of Huai Jiao (Sophora japonica gum), strain it, let it cool to warm temperature, add flour, and cook into a thick paste. Form pills the size of Sophora seeds. This formula is indicated for wind-stroke paralysis, wind causing spasticity of limbs, wind causing facial deviation, epilepsy wind, and violent pathogenic winds.

Coarsely grind and sieve. Take 5 qianbi per dose. Add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct until 0.8 zhan remains. Strain, add Banhe of Zhuli (Bamboo Sap) and a small amount of Baimi (White Honey). Stir well. Take warm. If heat symptoms predominate, take cold before meals. If cold symptoms predominate, take warm after meals. If taking Kushen Wan (Kushen Pill), swallow this pill with this decoction.
