The toxic qi of cinnabar and stone drugs, attacking upwards to the eyes, is caused by heat qi invading the Liver internally. The Liver opens into the eyes; when the Liver receives blood, vision is enabled. For those who consume elixirs, improper regulation leads to this condition.
Dahuang Wan (Cassia Fruit Pill), from *Shenghui Fang*, treats toxic qi of cinnabar and stone drugs attacking upwards, causing redness and swelling of the eyes, difficulty opening them, astringent pain with the formation of nebulae (cataracts/opacities), and mental restlessness.
Ingredients: Chuan Dahuang (Cassiae Semen, 1 liang, crushed and slightly stir-fried), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, 1.5 liang, heart removed and baked), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Qingxiangzi (Celosiae Semen, each 0.5 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 3 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Dahuang Tang (Cassia Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats heat-toxin of cinnabar and stone drugs attacking the eyes and causing nebulae, mental irritability, facial redness, and headache.
Ingredients: Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and stir-fried), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Sheng Gan Dihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, baked), Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix, crushed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed and baked).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Xiegan Dahuang Tang (Drain Liver Cassia Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats the onset of stone drug properties, red and painful eyes, and wind-heat eye diseases.
Ingredients: Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and fried), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, black heart removed), Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen, stir-fried), Shanzhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, fried and crushed), Sangbaipipi (Mori Cortex, crushed), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix, rhizome and leaves removed, each 0.5 liang).

Lingyangjiao Tang (Antelope Horn Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats excessive consumption of cinnabar and stone drugs, where heat-toxin ascends, causing redness and pain in both eyes, or swelling and ulceration of the eyelids.
Ingredients: Lingyangjiao (Saigae Tataricae Cornu, shaved), Fushen (Poria with Hostwood, wood removed), Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, forks removed), Qianghuo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix, rhizome removed), Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Digupi (Lycii Cortex, chrysanthemum flowers, each 2 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.

Lingyangjiao Tang (Antelope Horn Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats the onset of stone drug properties, dry thirst, eye pain, abundant red tears, and heat-toxin eye disease.
Ingredients: Lingyangjiaoxie (Saigae Tataricae Cornu shavings, shaved), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Shanzhiren (Gardeniae Fructus), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed and baked), Zhimu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Jiegeng (Platycodonis Radix, crushed and stir-fried), Beimu (Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus, heart removed and baked), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 0.8 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Qianhu Xiegan Tang (Peucedanum Drain Liver Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats toxic qi of cinnabar and stone drugs attacking upwards, causing red and irritable eyes, and heat stagnation in the chest.
Ingredients: Qianhu (Peucedani Radix, rhizome removed, 3 liang), Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen, 3 liang), Zhiziren (Gardeniae Fructus, 2 liang), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, black heart removed, 3 liang), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma, seedlings and leaves removed, 3 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, and take while lying down.
Juemingzi Tang (Cassia Seed Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats cinnabar and stone drug toxicity, as well as exogenous heat rushing into the eyes causing redness, tearing, and pain.
Ingredients: Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen, stir-fried), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, pulp removed and bran-fried), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, seedlings removed), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, black heart removed), Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried and crushed), Cheqianziye (Plantaginis Folium, 10 leaves).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Gegen Tang (Kudzu Root Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats the onset of metal and stone drug properties, causing severe eye pain as if splitting.
Ingredients: Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix, crushed), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed), Mutong (Akebiae Caulis, crushed), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Wulan (Isatidis Folium, each 2 liang), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, black heart removed), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, crushed).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm. If stool is obstructed, add Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas, 1 qianbi).
Formula for treating red eyes due to heat rushing upwards after taking cinnabar and stone drugs.
Ingredients: Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Kushen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), Huaizi (Stemonae Rhizoma, each 2 liang), Ruiren (Prini Semen), Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, each 0.5 fen), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed), Weirui (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma), Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, small amount).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Xijiao San (Rhinoceros Horn Powder), from *Shenghui Fang*, treats toxic qi of cinnabar and stone drugs attacking the eyes, causing redness, swelling, and pain.
Ingredients: Xijiaoxie (Rhinocerotis Cornu shavings), Chuan Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Zhiziren (Gardeniae Fructus), Gan Juhua (Chrysanthemi Flos), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix), Chuan Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and slightly stir-fried, each 3 fen), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed and baked, 1 liang).

Cheqianzi San (Plantago Seed Powder), from *Shenghui Fang*, treats toxic qi of cinnabar and stone drugs attacking the eyes, causing swelling and pain of the white and black parts of the eyes, inability to open them, and mental irritability.
Ingredients: Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Chuan Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Chi Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Chuan Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and slightly stir-fried, each 1 liang), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, honey-fried, slightly reddish, crushed, 1 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried and crushed).
Preparation and Administration: Crush and sieve the above ingredients into a powder. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Mangxiao San (Natrii Sulfas Powder), from *Shenghui Fang*, treats cinnabar and stone drug toxicity attacking the eyes, causing pain, swelling, and nebulae formation, along with mental agitation.
Ingredients: Chuan Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus, bran-fried until slightly yellow, pulp removed), Gouteng (Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncis, crushed), Zhiziren (Gardeniae Fructus, each 2 liang), Chuan Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and slightly stir-fried, 1 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Crush and sieve the above ingredients into a powder. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Qianhu Tang (Peucedanum Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats the onset of milk stone drug properties, causing headache, pulling heat pain in the meridians on both sides of the Taiyang region, red and painful eyes, unresolved bitter toxin, and even rupture of the eyeball.
Ingredients: Weirui (Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma, 1 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried and crushed, 1 liang), Gegen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix, crushed, 2 fen), Qianhu (Peucedani Radix, rhizome removed, 0.5 liang), Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed and baked, 0.5 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 0.8 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Kuizi San (Abutilon Seed Powder), from *Shenghui Fang*, treats cinnabar and stone drug toxicity, initially presenting with facial redness, dry mouth, yellow-red eyes, and pain, fearing the development of nebulae.
Ingredients: Kuizi (Abutili Semen), Chi (Fermented Soybean, slightly stir-fried), Xijiaoxie (Rhinocerotis Cornu shavings), Diyu (Sanguisorbae Radix, crushed), Chuan Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Lu Fengfang (Vespa Nidus, slightly stir-fried, each 1 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried until slightly reddish and crushed, 3 fen).
Preparation and Administration: Crush and sieve the above ingredients into a powder. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm. Drink hot noodle soup after administration to induce sweating.
Maimendong Tang (Ophiopogon Decoction), treats various stone drug toxicities, eye pain, and alternating chills and fever.
Ingredients: Maimendong (Ophiopogonis Radix, heart removed and baked, 2 liang), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried and crushed), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, black heart removed), Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and fried), Zhiziren (Gardeniae Fructus, each 1 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 4 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Chaihu Wash Eye Decoction (Bupleurum Wash Eye Decoction), from *Shenghui Fang*, treats toxic qi of cinnabar and stone drugs attacking upwards, causing red and painful eyes with slight swelling and ulceration.
Ingredients: Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix, seedlings removed), Ruiren (Prini Semen, ground), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed), Chuan Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma), Xuanshen (Scrophulariae Radix, each 1 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Use 3 da zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, filter the liquid, and wash the eyes with the warm decoction.
Sanhuang Wan (Three Yellows Pill), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats various stone drug toxicities, persistent intense heat, abdominal fullness, red urine, difficult and unsmooth defecation, vomiting with qi rushing to the chest, and dry mouth/tongue.
Ingredients: Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed, 2 liang), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, black heart removed, 2 liang), Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, crushed and stir-fried), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, honey-fried and crushed, each 1 liang).
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 5 pills per dose with warm water.
Huangqin Tang (Scutellaria Decoction), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats fever due to the onset of stone drug properties, abdominal distension and fullness, red urine, difficult defecation, chest irritability, and red painful eyes.
Preparation and Administration: Coarsely crush and sieve the above ingredients. Take 3 qianbi per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water, decoct to 1 zhan, remove dregs, and take warm.
Dahuang Ointment (Cassia Ointment), from *Shenghui Fang*, treats cinnabar and stone drug toxicity, causing swollen and painful eyes with profuse hot tears.
Ingredients: Chuan Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma, 3 liang, crushed and used raw), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, 0.5 liang).
Usage: Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with juice of fresh Rehmannia root to form a thin paste. Apply to the swollen area. Replace when dry.
Xingren Ointment (Apricot Kernel Ointment), from *Shengji Zonglu*, treats cinnabar and stone drug toxicity rushing into the eyes, causing redness and itching, and the formation of floating membranes. For eye instillation.
Ingredients: Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, skin and tip removed, double kernels, stir-fried and ground), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma, whiskers removed), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Dahuang (Cassiae Radix et Rhizoma), Mangxiao (Natrii Sulfas), Bingpian (Borneolum Syntheticum), Longnao (Dragon Brain/Borneol), Zhenzhu (Margarita), Shexiang (Moschus), etc. (Original text incomplete, only title and indication retained).
Usage: Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with egg white to uniform consistency. Instill into the eyes.
Togan Formula (Rabbit Liver Formula), from *Longmu Lun*.
Mix rabbit liver with Juemingzi (Cassiae Semen), grind together, and form pills for oral administration. Alternatively, eat raw. For those who have taken cinnabar and stone drugs and present with upper body swelling, dim vision, and inability to see objects, eating raw rabbit liver is recommended, similar to consuming sheep liver.
Formula for Treating Cinnabar and Stone Drug Toxicity Attacking the Eyes, from *Shenghui Fang*.
Clarify the juice of fresh Rehmannia root, store it in a porcelain container, and instill frequently into the eyes.
