The classic states: In the pulse, there are Yin Qiao and Yang Qiao vessels, and Yin Bo (pulsation at the Yin aspect). These appear in the positions of the Three Yin meridians. The pulse of the Foot Taiyin Spleen meridian belongs to the Spleen. The Spleen is located in the Central Province (Zhongzhou), containing and storing Yang Qi.
If suppression causes the generated Yang Qi to be injured leading to mania, while Yin cannot regulate independently, symptoms such as fever, trismus (lockjaw), heat in the axilla, and aversion to being touched may occur. This is caused by the excess of pathogenic factors in the Three Yang meridians. Moreover, taking lithic stones (Ru Shi) increases internal heat; if dietary regulation is improper, manifestations in the Yin aspect present as rashes, which can be treated by warming the feet externally and internally restoring Yang Qi to the Three Yin meridians for recovery. Manifestations in the Yang aspect present as rashes, which can be treated by slightly cooling externally and using cold-natured herbs to dissipate internal heat. How could such principles be escaped?

Lithic stones (Ru Shi) have violent properties. For individuals who are emaciated or suffer from chronic diseases, they are difficult to control. When they manifest, they cause obstruction of Zang-Fu organs. Heat leads to thirst; hunger leads to eating. Imbalance in water and grain intake leads to muscle wasting. The violent nature of the stones, when offending cold, [causes pathology].
