Individuals who consume mineral stones (Rushi, a type of mineral drug) often have cold in the diaphragm and heat in the epigastrium. Cold and heat contend with each other, causing Qi rebellion attacking the abdomen, which then invades the Heart, resulting in Heart-Abdominal Pain. If the Cold pathogen is particularly vigorous,
Qianhu San (Anterior Stem Decoction, from *Shenghui Fang*) treats the onset of Mineral Stone toxicity. Symptoms include chest and heart oppression and stuffiness, abdominal pain with chills and clenched teeth, and inability to eat.
Ingredients: Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix, de-rhizome), Bing Lang (Arecae Semen), Gui Xin (Cinnamomi Cortex), each half tael; Chi Fu Ling (Poria with Red Wood, two taels); Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, two fen); Xi Jiao Xie (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved); Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), each three taels.
[Note: The phrase "Zhi Liu Fen" appears fragmented in the source text.]
Muxiang San (Costus Root Decoction, from *Shenghui Fang*) treats the onset of Mineral Stone toxicity. Symptoms include Heart-Abdominal Pain with clenched teeth and chills, cold trembling of the four limbs, and lack of appetite.
Ingredients: Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix, half tael); Xi Jiao Xie (Rhinocerotis Cornu, shaved); Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra); Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), each three fen; Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, sliced and stir-fried, three fen); Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix, de-rhizome); Zhi Ke (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, bran-fried, approximately two pieces).
