Xie Xi Li (Intermittent Dysentery) is a condition caused by stagnant fluid accumulation in the epigastrium. Due to the prolonged duration of dysentery, it may be exacerbated by cold pathogens or heat pathogens. When Qi moves within the stagnant fluid, the fluid becomes agitated, and the deficient intestines cannot withstand this agitation, resulting in dysentery. When the cold and heat pathogens are balanced, the stagnant fluid clears, and the dysentery ceases. Because the gastrointestinal tract is weak, it is easily affected by cold and heat pathogens; these pathogens may move or remain static, causing the disease to recur intermittently.
