Zhizi Bopi Tang (Gardenia and Phellodendron Decoction, from *Bacui Fang*) treats jaundice caused by dry-heat.
Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), Bapi (Phellodendri Cortex) (each 3 liang), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) (15 fruits). Cut the herbs into pieces the size of hemp seeds. Take 1 liang per dose. Add 2 zhan of water, decoct, and take orally.
If jaundice occurs with unceasing spontaneous diarrhea, add Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) and Huangbapi (Phellodendri Cortex) each 3 liang (raw), and reduce the amount of Dahuang. This method is highly effective.
Yinchen Tang (Artemisiae Scopariae Decoction, from *Danliao Fang*) treats residual heat remaining after sweating for cold damage, resulting in yellowing of the body and face, significant fever, and a duration of one year without cure. Physicians mistakenly treated it as food-stagnation jaundice, but the disease persisted. Upon inquiry, it was found that food intake had not decreased. Subsequently, this prescription was administered: symptoms reduced by one-third after five days, by two-thirds after ten days, and the disease was completely resolved after twenty days. The formula consists of:
Shanyinchenshen (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba), Shanzhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) (each 3 qian), Qinjiao (Gentianae Radix), Shengma (Cimicifugae Rhizoma) (each 4 qian). Cut the herbs. Take 3 qian as one dose, decoct, remove dregs, and take after meals.
Yinchen Fuzi Ganjiang Tang (Artemisiae Scopariae, Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix, and Zingiberis Rhizoma Decoction, from *Weisheng Baojian*) treats yin syndrome transformed due to excessive use of cooling medicines, manifesting as yellowing of both the body and eyes, and very cold skin on the four limbs.
Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix, processed, peeled, and de-navelled, 3 qian), Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma, processed, 2 qian), Yinchenhao (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba, 1 qian 3 fen), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma, soaked in boiling water seven times, 5 fen), Baifuling (Poria, peeled, 3 fen), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma, 5 fen), Zhishi (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, bran-fried, de-albedo, 5 fen), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, de-albedo, 3 fen), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 4 fen), Caodoukou (Cardamomi Fructus, wrapped in flour and roasted until cooked, peel removed, kernel used, 2 qian). Cut the herbs into pieces the size of hemp seeds. Combine all as one dose. Add 1.5 zhan of water and 5 slices of Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens). Decoct until 1 zhan remains, then remove dregs.
