Among cold damage diseases, those cured by sweating occur because in the early stage of illness, from day one to three, the Yang meridians are invaded by pathogenic factors, which have not yet transmitted to the Yin meridians. At this time, the pathogen is at the exterior, so fever should appear.
If the pulse is slow, there is excessive sweating, and slight aversion to cold, it indicates that the exterior syndrome has not resolved; Guizhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) can be administered.
Additionally, in Yangming disease, if there is irritability and heat, sweating occurring paroxysmally like malaria, or tidal fever appearing in the afternoon (Shen and You hours), this is to remove internal accumulation.
In Shaoyin disease, upon initial onset, if the pulse is deep but there is contrary fever, warming methods should be used to induce slight sweating; Mahuang Xixin Fuzi Tang (Ephedra, Asarum, and Aconite Decoction) is used. If diarrhea occurs... [text missing], then...
